Why no Quebec :(

The rules and regulations in Quebec regarding prizes are extremely unfriendly and unfair to those who actually win the prize. I have an entire article you can read about exactly why we do not deal with Quebec but I highly doubt you will want to read it, it is quite lengthy. But if you do, I will be more than happy and send it to you.

It's required for hon? isn't it impossible to cheat in hon?

You are correct. However, the Client also protects teams from playing against smurfers/ringers on the opposite team. That way you know that you are actually playing a legitimate roster with members who are in fact on the roster.

It also lets us, the Officials, know which team indeed showed up for the match, when, and who. That way we know, for example, that Team A was indeed ready for the match but Team B was late by 20 minutes, and is claiming that they were ready to play. This helps us resolve conflicts and issues such as those.

If you have any more questions or issues, please, feel free and ask.

It's not me hatin', it's the Match Network Client, it does not support multi-platforms yet. I'm still waiting on that myself.

I was reading the rules and it says that different sound files can't be used. Does this mean that I need to disable my announcer pack that I bought from the goblin store?

How can you report a team for not following the rules?

How can you report a team for not following the rules?
You need to be the leader then fill out a ticket, about what they did or talk to a monitor on the site.
and are you new TaX member or do we have a team in this tournament????

2.1 Preliminary Phase: The opening phase of the Tournament (the “Preliminary Phase”) will consist of online Double-Elimination play among up to 128 Teams split randomly into 8 brackets (each consisting of up to 16 Teams). Teams will be assigned to play two Matches per week between Monday, March 28 and Thursday, April 21. Play will continue until only two Teams remain in each bracket and those Teams (16 total) will advance to the subsequent Playoffs Phase, while all other Teams in the Preliminary Phase will be considered eliminated from the Tournament at that point.

Maybe it's elsewhere but I couldn't find it, are these matches all bo1 or bo3, thanks!

Correcto-mundo. Don't forget guys, if you have any questions or issues, you should ask us (the officials) directly rather than posting it here as I do not frequent the forums as much as I should.

All the support info is posted on the Alienware Arena website.

what a joke

How is that a joke? Having a choice of bo3 rather than forcing it is much better in my opinion. I do like bo3 more, however not everyone has the time to play a bo3 since not all of the matches get played during the weekends. A lot of the matches do get played on a typical weekday night.

Also, for professional teams a bo3 is more appropriate but we do have a lot of casual teams who are giving competitive HoN a try. Thus, if we make it all bo3, those casual teams with real life obligations will not be able to play the match entirely.

In the last event I ran for Alienware Arena, we had a Pro division and an Open division, which allowed us to set different standards based on the team's skill level. This current event everyone is playing in the same division.

If you have any REAL questions or comments, please do go ahead and ask but saying "what a joke" about another tournament is not very professional.

I do have respect for you as a tournament manager of the SK-Gaming Tournament #1, but comments like these are not appreciated.

The comment was harsh and I apologize for that, but I still think not having the same rules for every match-up in the same tournament is a huge mistake. One would think there's a reason why no one did that before you.

Apology accepted.

Alienware Arena does not host tournaments JUST for the professional teams. It hosts tournaments and lans for a wide variety of skill levels. This is why we don't follow the "top-tier rules" per-say. A lot of teams like having options rather than forcing them to play one way or another, verity is nice.

CEVO, on the other-hand has different rules for different skill-levels. This is because we listen to the community and try and accommodate everyone's requests. But...that is a different story for another time.

Each group will have two winners. One from the Upper Bracket and one from the Lower Bracket. Eight brackets with two winners from each will total in 16 teams playing in the Finals Bracket.

It was just for clarification/simplicity. Every tournament news post will follow a similar format from now on. I also added on a link to the Championship Stage as it had not been updated in a while.

MrOldShadow, I've tried messaging you a few times but you've been AFK.

I live on a college campus and the campus does not allow the use or downloading of CEVO. Is there anything I can do about this?

This is not where CEVO/Alienware Arena does their support :p nevertheless, I understand everything is in working condition now.
