I am wondering if someone could give me a hand at learning Pebbles better. I have played him for some games now and I would like some more advice on him, and I couldn't find any guides on him.

So my question is what kind of starting items do I need to go for and what other "core" items are good for him?
I normaly start with: 1x crusing gauntlets, 1x pretenders crown and 1x healing potion and 1x blight and 1x mana potion.
And after that going after 2x fortified bracelet (and some times just 1x if i got lots of money and go steamboots already) and after that steamboots.
I also have done 2x crusing gauntlets 1x healing 2x blight and then 2x fortified and then steamboots so that i got a little bit more healing in the start of the game.

But I never realy know what is a good item for him after steamboots I use icon of goddes allot of times after that. So what is a good item build? (and please can you give some advice on my starting items and such if they are anygood?)
-edit almost forgot I use mystic vestments some times when low on money and on the losing side, imo +5 magic armor can be pretty decent for only 400g and pretty cheap to bump up your survival, what do you think?

And if someone knows any other tips on playing pebbles they are more than welcome. Thanks in advice

Ring of Sorcery. Get it. All your mana problems are solved, and that makes you damn scary early/midgame.

Enhanced Marchers. Good speed, armor is nice (you have very low armor naturally).

Warpcleft. Counteracts the -attack speed from your ult, and gives you some pretty crazy damage output. Upgrades nicely to...

Daemonic Breastplate: which continues to fix your armor problems and makes you and your team a wrecking crew.

I suggest getting a mana battery almost on every hero though, since it's almost as good as a bracer/soulscream ring/talisman and gives you the 15health/mana per charge thing.

If you feel like you're getting nuked a lot I suggest going 1-2 bracer (+ perhaps the mana battery) instead of the talisman of exile(s).

Req:
Bracer
Ring of Sorc
Enhanced March/Post Haste

Portal Key
Daemonic BP
Stormspirit
Behe Heart
Frostfield Plate

Essentially, you want to get right next to someone to perform your stalag/toss combo. Portal Key (blink) and Stormspirit (movespeed and 2.5 sec disable) are 2 options to assist you in this. Going stormspirit may allow you to skip ring of sorc.

Daemonic BP (warpcleft first) ups your abysmal attack speed to help you finish them off and also provides much needed armor.

Behe Heart- self explanatory

Frostfield - Armor, mana, and an AE slow/nuke.

In a good game it should be over before you get Demonic and Heart and Frostfeild...

They are options, not all of the above...

By the time most games end, I'll have:

Bracer or 2
Ring of Sorc
Enhanced Marchers
PK
Daemonic

Ring of Sorcery is a must if no one else on your team is getting it, and even then, still useful to have more than one.

Portal Key is a nice touch, but effectively landing your Stalagmites stun and then running to Chuck them will do just fine. Or for a more complex tactic, you can chuck your teammate into the crowd (think throwing Tempest with an ult ready to go, assuming he hasn't farmed his portkey yet, or someone else with an AoE stun like Hellbringer).

Pebbles is an underrated character IMO, particularly useful in teamfights and even better in pub games.

As for late game luxury items, I'd say Behemoths Heart before Demonic Breastplate, since you'll likely be more of a tank than an offensive weapon. But it can be argued for either case.

EDIT: Magic Armor is typically dependent on the other team. If they're heavy INT nukers and you are doing poorly against it, it is highly recommended (Magic Armor -> Shaman's Headdress). It's not a Pebbles specific item and generally isn't recommended as you will likely not be focused as much as your other teammates. Shrunken Head is better.

I do play him without the PK, but its really helpful for getting for ensuring you get the max damage on the stalag/chuck combo (and hit multiple heroes with it) and to get back into melee range of runners while stalag is on cooldown. Its not a requirement, however.

Behe heart is always great, but pebbles has **** for armor so at least DBP addresses that and actually allows you to hit people multiple times with your auto attack while providing a nice aura.

Chucking lego before he has portal key is a helpful thing to do in the early stages. Chucking a disabler into range of a fleeing enemy is also quite helpful.
