Well, I'm back, sorry for not answering in a while, been busy and in vacation and don't have much time lately to mess with the mod, or the will for that matter :S
Well, for those reasons I won't be updating the mod anymore, if anyone wants to use any code from it in their addons, or even pick this one up and continue it, feel free to do so, if you have any questions about the code just ask me and I'll try to answer.
I'll make some simpler but usefull (I hope) addons in the future I guess, but nothing like this, not for now at least. I'm gonna update the first post with nextday's fixed version and the one that works with MiniUI. Anyway, thanks for using the addon, cya around :P

Features
- Addon compatible
Modders can make addons for the mod. What are the advantages of doing this? As an addon you get a button inside the menu of the Improved UI, where you can put all the options for your mod/addon, instead of each addon having a button somewhere in the interface, while you have your code on your own package. The only difference between an addon and a standalone is the options inside the menu, any mod can be converted into an addon. A simple guide here (http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showpost.php?p=518256&postcount=130).
- Death Timer
You can easily see when a hero is dead and how long until they respawn, you can also enable the mod to warn your team on chat when an enemy, ally or yourself has just respawned.
- Improved Minimap
A movable and scalable minimap that you can toggle to show/hide with a hotkey, you can also change it's opacity and make it clickable or not.
- Target UI
A frame that shows the HP/Mana of the target, you can move and scale it, toggle Buffs/Debuffs and Effective Health (both Physical and Magic).
- Info Panel
A small panel with a lot of information that you can toggle on/off individually, it shows the info of your Active Unit and your Target. Some of the info include Dps, both Armors %, both Effective Healths, HP and Mana regen/s, time till full HP/Mana in seconds, Movespeed and others.
- Team UI
A frame for each Allied Hero that you can move wherever you want, showing name, HP/Mana bars, Gold, Skills levels and cooldowns, with a couple of layouts you can chose from. Also you can chose to show bars below the Ally hero units' hp/mana bar, wich show the status of each of their skills.
- Movable Chat
The game chat is now movable so you can place all the rest of the panels where you want without getting in the way of your messages.
- Others
Some other minor options you can turn on like buff times above the buff icons.
- Very Customizable
You can toggle on/off all of the features so that you only use exactly what you want. Many of the frames are movable and scalable, and all of them have various options to customize them further, all of wich stay saved after you exit the game.
- Easy to use
Just install it, open the menu by clicking on the "blue +" on the top-left corner while in a game, configure it however you want and you are good to go.

Addons
- Juking Map
It shows an image with the Caldavar map (http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/3131/caldavarjuking.png) and most of the juking spots, the addon uses the same options as the minimap options, with a hotkey to toggle, options to enable, change scale and opacity. This is meant as an example for modders to make their own addons, but it is fully functional.
- Levelup Hotkeys
With this addon you can chose a hotkey to levelup any of your skills, including stats.
- Autocast Hotkeys
With this addon you can chose a hotkey to toggle the autocast of any skills.

Installation
To install, save the .s2z file into the games folder game/ folder. The default locations for these are:
Linux: /home/<username>/HoN/game/

Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Heroes of Newerth\game\

1. Press Finder

Well I compared the two files I have and they are the same. I've installed the new version to my combination and its still giving me the older version.
[Edit] I've figured it out, turns out the game still loads game_spectator.interface even if your in a normal game.. my spec file had your old mod in it and it was overwriting my game.interface with your updated mod in it. Odd =/

[Bug] Hotkey for minimap doesn't work for me

I also have a suggestion could you move the target debuff/buffs from the bottom right to being anchored to the top of the target ui?

Quick suggestions:
Please allow an even smaller scalesize on the Minimap. It's actually quite large even at 50%, when it's not tucked away into some corner!
Please consider adding a transparency option to the minimap as well.
Please consider adding movability, transparency, and scalability options for the handling of player buffs / debuffs and target buffs / debuffs.

so, I've had mixed results with settings being saved from your mod... my last 2 games it saved everything, so I'm not sure if it's just practice mode messing with it, or what. Maybe more testing is needed. Just hope you catch this before you go crazy trying to figure it out in the morning =P
My suggestion with your 2ndary placement of the Magic EH, and Armor EH would be one above, and one below the target health. Maybe silver color for armor EH, and a purpleish for magic EH.
Enjoying this mod a lot. Your work is greatly appreciated. Eventually I'll come up with something else for you to add =) =).

Nor does it track damage block, buffs, or passive abilities. Although it's possible to check items, as far as I'm aware, you can only guess what skills the opponents have leveled up.
I believe this is as accurate as it can realistically be.

I tried the opacity but the only thing that changes is the picture of the map, the fog of war and unit "blocks" I cant change. If I make it 100% transparent it shows up like this:

Wow. This is effing awesome. I set minimap hotkey to T, and have it at 84% scale and sit it at the bottom left corner overlapping the normal minimap - press T to enlarge the map :D

I would still like an option for transparency. Although, I'm pretty sure you could mod the items on the map to be transparent too. Even with the solid dots, it's better than not having it for me.

Yeah... that bug probably can't be fixed because the code for minimap's pings and contents is hardcoded, not part of the ui.

- added team ui, kinda not finished completelly, but all you should need is there, also didnt have time to test all the 4 frames at the same time, tested with only 1 teammate, but should be working, didnt add anything to the portrait yet like death timer, loading % and that kind of stuff, its just a portrait in this version
- added opacity/clickable to the minimap
- maybe more things, thats all I can remember

Scalable would be kinda messy, as I can't just scale it, I have to modify the width and height to make it look like its scaling, its easyier with the map/target ui cause there is almost to no text, only images, wich scale if I make the panel bigger, text stay the same, so I have to change the font size, and there's only a range of sizes that I can use.
Personally I don't think they are big, the old ones were at least 50% bigger, vertically they are about the same, horizontally this one is way thinner, its just that on the old mod the chat got moved when you enabled them, and I forgot to do that for this version, I'll prob make the chat movable with that box like the other stuff.

Yeah it would be nice to have a few options for pre-placed locations for the team ui. Edit: I like the new one more, but I think this would be a nice feature.

- team ui now defaults to the left side of the screen, can still move it if you wish
- added a button to reset all settings to default
- you change the font size of the info panel
- chat is now movable, it defaults a little to the right of where it normally is, out of the way of the default team ui place

QFT. Sorry Barter, but I was a much bigger fan of your work in mod 13. I loved some of the info that this mod gives but I'm gonna stick with 13 until it stops working with S2's patches. If you made this mod have the team ui of mod 13 I'd totally be with it. I just hate the scaling and that I can't even try and test it out and adjust it in practice mode. All criticism aside, great mod with all the info it gives.

When displaying the buff timer, things that are a buff but have no timer show up as 0s which is a little bit annoying, eg. Astroblade , arachna's buff , base shop also would be cool if we could hide specific team UI's

barter the option to say in teamchat if a hero respawned, can u make it separate on only enemys, only allies, and only own hero?
so if i leave the 3 options ON, is like it is currently. the spamming of messages of allies and enemies is kinda anoying.

Man this is one of the best mods right now imo. Love how you're combining lots of other things too, like the timers on buffs/debuffs. You ever plan to do some things to the scoreboard? Something thinner and less obstructive so I could keep it open all the time would be awesome (maybe something like lowboll's?)

Well, I put it on top of it cause inside the icons it already shows the charges of the buffs (only arcane hide for now I think), and its easier to read :P
I may do a scoreboard tough.

One thing I'd love to see fixed is the chat respawn announcements.. It seems to mix up the team colors frequently, I assume because it doesn't recheck what team I'm on when I join a new game.

It doesn't do green for allies and red for enemies, it does green for Legion and red for Hellbourne.

An option to toggle forest/juking-paths on the mini-map would be appreciated. As it is right now, I don't really see a good reason to use the extended mini-map when the original one serves its purpose, but a juking map for smart escape pathing would be sweet.

That's a really nice juke spot map... Very nice. I'd like to see a quick toggle for that too, and it's even easier to code than the minimap.

If you mean there's double chat, you'll have to update you're mod. If not, can you re-explain yourself? I don't know what you're talking about.

the buff timer values are 1 second faster than other indicators (bard's ui, and vadi's buff/debuff)
theirs has it so that the moment it reaches 0 is when it ends. yours has it so that the "0" is displayed for one second and then disappears.
in all honesty i think the first way makes more sense. when it says "1" it should mean that you have 1 second of the buff left. if it says "0" for an entire second, it doesn't mean you have zero seconds left: you actually have one full second left - that doesn't make sense. please consider changing.
i love your package btw. all of the displays can be "clicked through" so it doesn't infringe on the size of your clickability area. the menu button is so compact too. <3 <3
* does clicking reset settings give you a confirmation or does it just do it? accidental clicks could be disastrous. i'm scared to test this cz i adjusted so many settings.

u dont drag it into the manager. u save the file into the mods folder. when u open the hon_modman it will automatically detect it and it wil appear in the modman

This might be a noob question, but I just recently installed Windows 7 today and when I came to reinstall HoN and the BardUI there was an issue. I think a new version of this was just released today and it's in *.s2z format... I put it in the /game/ directory and nothing happened. I downloaded the 1.05 bardui.honmod file and put it in the /mods/ folder and loaded it with HoN Mod Manager it says that the mod is applied with [Great Success!] but to no avail there is no option to turn it on (ie: the BardUI button never appears in the top right) when I load HoN. What am I doing wrong? I turned UAC off and everything... Please help!
Edit: ...Nevermind, apparently BarterUI and BardUI aren't quite the same... BarterUI can't get to work, but no need I guess. Thanks anyways....
Hi, I have a problem with this modification.
Im using HonMod with mods:
-BardUI
-Cleaner Battles
-Ecyclopedia
-Picklefish Stats
-RuneTimer
-SpellChanneling Bar
-TinyUI
All these mods works fine but when I add this mod (s2z file), doesnt detect it to me in the game. I emphasize that I didnt used HonMod previously and i was adding mods directly to the game directory (as s2z). Improved UI has also been compiled with a different mod (Barter UI) by someone from the forum.With file s2z (bartui + improvedui) worked, separately doesnt work. Can I ask for some help?
Sorry for my english, I hope that as this is understandable :P

2. do you use any other plain .s2z mods with a higher number than this mod has that use the game.interface ?
3. this IS barter ui - available as .honmod file - compatible with all mods u listed u r using

Since one might want to use the minimap to look around but not use it for movement commands. This would eliminate the risk that you accidently right click the minimap when running away or chasing and thus sending you in an unwanted direction.

Not really... just use HoN Modification Manager. Barter UI is bug-free and is un-intrusive.

I just installed this and it doesn't work? I put it into my game folder and then when I loaded up a game nothing happend. I wanna try combine Bard UI and Barter UI together, love Bards and I love Barters death timer and heaps of other stuff. Anyone help :<?

u only put s2z files into your game folder.
download mod manager, try going thru the instructions again. mod manager is a stand alone appliatn like mocrosoft excel, or warcraft 3 or itunes. put that somewhere else. once u go thru the proper extraction, it will create a "mods" folder in the game folder. u put honmods there. when u run mod manager it will detect and show the icon in the program.

Why not .honmod? You can make an .s2z version by applying only this mod with the mod manager.

Yes, it is. It's a map of all the paths available without broken trees. It's not the prettiest thing ever, but it's pretty good. Viole made it, and it's from the guides forum.

Well that's it, making addons for the mod is more so that you use the options menu for your mod options, the rest is just as if it was a standalone.

- the juking map isn't clickable, even tho there is an option to enable/disable it. (yes i did update the addon. previously, the checkboxes wouldn't even click. now they do, but this "clickable" one isn't working. thinking about it, do we even want it to be clickable?
- the hotkey assignment for minimap and juking map don't seem to work for me.
i switched them so that minimap is F3 and juking is F4, but it just ignores that and the original key bindings are in effect.

Update your mod. He uploaded a new version which fixed one or two small bugs. Also, you need to hit the "ENTER" key on your keyboard after typing in a hotkey, and the hotkeys need to be uppercase.

Yeah the clickable doesn't do anything, I was just too lazy to remove that option and rearrange all the buttons after copying the options from the minimap options cause I made it more as an example as to how to make an addon.

On your screenshot you are using Improved UI, BardUI, TinyUI and scoreboard that I can see, it is an incompatibility with one of them or it's something with you HoN.

The Juking Map is an addon, for addon's options go to options -> addons -> "addon name". Also use the v1.06 but I'm guessing you are already if you managed to apply the addon on honmod.

i've got a problem. When i go to the bottom right corner of the screen, i.e stash or tower fortification glyph, the explanation for what i'm hovering the mouse over gets in the way and i cant actually click what im hovering over, i need to click several times and move the mouse back and forth over the intended items. its simply the explanation window is too low. i've looked within options for some way to fix this but im at a loss.
the problem goes away when i remove your mod, but i love ur mod so much and have come to depend on it so much, that i just fight with the explanation window anytime i wanna do something.
edit: ok i just updated and everything is peachy. not to worry. cant fault it.
Hey barter, I was wondering if you would have any objections to me releasing a standalone "Enemy Respawn Announcer" based on your 'code'.
You would have credits attached in the forum post and in the .package, I just simply stripped it down and made it a standalone mod to announce when somebody on the enemy team respawns.

EDIT: nevermind I reinstalled it and it works fine now. Seconds I love the autocast key addon :D I still prefer the AAL mod for the lvling up though but Still good work :D

Sometimes the death time is still there in the next game (just a white box with the time frozen) of some of the dead players. This then covers the new death timer, so it's not usable in that game. I have to disable it and then it works again the game after that.
Otherwise very nice UI mod:).
Are you planning on adding some miss/re buttons sometime? I think that would be a nice addition to the mod.

He probably won't, since there are other mods out there that do this and that are compatible with this (BardUI for example). Of course, there is nothing stopping him from doing this :p

the add-ons are nice I really like them. And I prefer your mod to bard's because bard's unitframes chug down system performance while yours doesnt
keep up the good work. And death timer is infinitely useful its almost like cheating :P
I cant get the death timer to work. It will only warn about my allies respawn. Did it get disabled or something on the latest patches?

I did not realize it got in the way of the vote, as I play on widescreen it wasnt really a problem for me, didnt think about normal screen tough, but thanks for posting, was gonna release 1.08 when I saw this, so added an option to hide the timer when a voting is going on.

Also I didnt have time to get the button somewhere else, I actually forgot untill just now and it would take some time to get a place for it and see if its ok there and I wanted to release it already, I'll do it for the next one.

it use to not do this though, i dunno when it started doing this (i think it was the original honmod conversion, i dont think so though). thanks for this though! :)

I tried the "auto level up hotkeys" addon, but I decided I wanted to still have the Shift+Ability queueing so I uninstalled the addon. can you make an updated and fixed .s2z files, showing blue death in all slots is scary... :)
Your juking map is very nice, so nice I wanted to use it as a replacemeant for the standard minimap. But I noticed a problem, it wont show pings and warnings. So maybe you could add that on the next update?
You could add an option to replace the original map with the juking one, that would be nice ^^

Your right, after the first vote the portraits are gone. When you uncheck the enable box, and a new votet will be startet, the portraits are back again.
But the normal new funktion is broken atm.

It's on the Team UI options, its labeled as "Show on units", it only shows up on your allies units, below the hp/mana bars. And as for it not showing up, are you using the honmod version or s2z? No, the Team UI doesn't need to be enabled for the skill status on the hp/mana bars to work.

I suggest you start disabling other mods and re-applying until you find which mod is incompatible with Barter's. Once you find it, update that one.

You need to press enter after typing in a hotkey. The hotkey also has to be uppercase.

In the original post of the thread. You can't use the add-ons without the main mod. The add-ons are for this mod.

I couldn't test right now cause I can't do test that one on practice, but the last games I played they were working, using any other addon? Especially ones that do something to the bars above the units.
I have the same problem. I can see the buff timers but no icons.

.s2z mods generally wont work after new patches. I suggest you use the .honmod version with the HoN Mod Manager.

Well, try to reapply the mods and see if shows up, if not maybe its something with TinyUI if it is the buffs, if you meant the skill bars below friendly heroes unit bars then maybe it is Tower Denier, try without those.

Towers have their own alt files, so I doubt it, but it's the most likely candidate aside from that.
Here is a screenshot to clarify. I had just eaten a tree and the buff timer showed, but there is no icon above it like their was prior to 1.59.

Oh well your problem is different than the person you posted after (on the last page). I would think it would be from BardUI, but you don't have that mod, so I don't know what to tell you. Try re-applying your mods, I guess...

Did you apply your mods after doing that? Just enabling won't apply them.

Try without any, see if it's there, if it is then apply one by one and test wich one is causing it.
TinyUI was the culprit. It shows up with no mods enabled, and it shows up with Barters UI, but not when TinyUI is enabled.

if anyone is interested, I was testing on 1.59.1, Improved UI by barter v1.08 and TinyUI v1.16.

Download the new TinyUI version from the repository. It should be working... I don't have the problem with that version.
