:bomb:Bombardier: A How-To Guide:bomb:

Brother of the famed evil scientist that became Dr. Repulsor, the Bombardier uses his wild mind to aid the Legion. Just a few years ago, the two brothers made amazing technical wonders together. But the Hellbourne arose and corrupted Repulsor, leaving the Bombardier with a fierce sense of vengeance. The Bombardier, along with faithful assistant Twitch, uses his various inventions and dangerous toys to beat the Hellbourne back into hell so far that they will finally release their evil grip on his brother.

Bombardier is an intelligence-based hero. His beginning stats are as follows:

Damage 45-50
Armor 2.24
Move speed 300
Attack type Ranged (600)
Attack rate 0.59
Strength 18 (+1.9)
Agility 16 (+1.4)
Intelligence 25 (+2.7)

Bombardier (or, "bomb", as I will call him for now) is a great hero to harass and babysit with, but, at the same time, can be devastating late game. He has a great combo, a long range stun, and a very high damaging global ult (that, when positioned correctly, can be used to 1-shot-kill some squishy heroes). In this guide, I will talk about how to dominate with this very dominant int hero.

Skills

Sticky Bomb
The Bombardier uses his sticky concoction to allow him to throw bombs that stick to the first surface they touch – with controlled explosive results.

This is bomb's most devastating harassing ability. Just plop this sucker onto an unsuspecting squishy hero and laugh in his face as he loses half of his life in one ability casting. To use this ability to the max, you need to wait for the 8 seconds to pass for the full power to charge. This is a downside, though, as in the later game it becomes a burden to have to wait 8 seconds for it to do some decent damage, and those 8 seconds wont be available in team fights. So, what I do is just wait for the first tick (where a large "1" pops up above the bomb) and then cast again, so it will stun. I will talk about how to position this ability later.

Bombardment
Using his beloved cannon The Bombardier showers a target area with explosive cannonballs, dealing damage over time and slowing enemy units.

This is a very useful chasing and farming ability, but is not so good with harassment. To make this do some damage worth the mana cost, they will have to stay in the AoE the whole time it is up, and that rarely never happens (the exception is in team fights). With the slow, though, you have an easier time setting up your sticky bomb, which is very nice for people not so used to using bomb.

Boom Dust
The Bombardier tosses his excess bombs onto target enemy or allied unit. When the target takes damage, the bombs cause an AOE explosion, hurting enemy units.

Again, this is a great farming and harassment ability. You can easily cast all 4 of your charges on a (still) enemy, which, at level 4, will do 400 damage total (not counting magic armor) which is great for the mana cost. Though, this ability is more useful when farming, as you don't really have the time to cast all 4 charges in a large team fight, but if you can, you're golden.

Air Strike!(Firebombing)
Bombardier calls his assistant Twitch to fly over and drop a series of bombs in a line. He’s a bit lazy, so it takes ~1 seconds for Twitch to arrive.

Ah, yes. This is by far my favorite ability. This ability is used as a vector, so you have to drag to get it to go where you want it to go and release. Also, this ability is global, so that means you can use it wherever you are onto anywhere on the map. I will go into much greater detail about this skill later in the guide.

Laning

Laning phase is where bomb really shines. To lane like a pro, all you have to do is stop the enemy from getting any last hits. To do this, you have to harass like crazy. I will now show you how to do this with my buddy bomb:

First, you need a good laning partner. Some good people to lane with so you can out-lane anyone else are:

Melee Carries with some kind of movement speed bonus/stealth(:damp::chro::scou::sand:)
Why melee carries? Well, with your aoe stun, aoe slow, and multiple stacks of boom dust, any melee carry can instantly kill anyone that has been stunned to the max by your sticky bomb, plus slowed by your bombardment. The carries that work best with you are ones with teleports(:nigh::mage::pred:), stealth(:scou::nigh:), and/or slows/movement speed bonuses(:nigh::sand:). Why? Because they can easily get to the stunned victim as fast as possible, killing them without hassle.

Melee Stunners (:blac::pebb::behe::hamm:)
Why melee stunners? Well, they have a 100% time stun on their hands. When they stun the enemy, you can easily pop on a sticky bomb and a cast of bombardment. While they are slowed by bombardment, if they are close to the tower, go ahead and stun them again with your sticky bomb. Hopefully after that stun is over with, your laning buddy will have their stun back up, and you will get an easy kill. I don't recommend ranged stunners because 2 range or 2 melee lanes are never a good idea. Let the other range help a melee laner or mid.

No Laning Partner(Solo or Mid)
I usually don't like taking mid or solo as bomb. The reason being is that you don't have enough holding power against 2 other heroes (solo) or one great mid (:dead::devo::myrm:). I'm not saying that bomb can't solo or mid, i'm saying that it is better to lane with a partner.

Laning Items

To start off the game, I usually grab this setup:
:CrushingClaws::CrushingClaws::PretendersCrown: :runesoftheblight:

It gives you some meat on your squishy little bones. Upgrade one of those into :FortifiedBracelet: and you will have a decent amount of health for now. Then, after I upgrade one of those, I grab :Marchers:. Then, upgrade the other :FortifiedBracelet: and upgrade your marchers into :EnhancedMarchers:.

After laning phase is over, grab a :NeophytesBook: to start off your sotm. (Yes, I rush sotm. Firebombing adds so much more potential for your ult. It gives it some long lasting damage output! Use firebombing right in the middle of a team fight and watch them all burn!). Then get a :Glowstone:, followed by :MightyBlade:, then finish your :StaffOfTheMaster:.

Now that you have your core item, I will talk about end-game builds.
