This post is a re-post as per Elementuser's request. Can the mod please move this to the Tech Support forum? For some reason it's not letting me into Tech support forums... unless I'm just failing miserable :P

Thanks in advance!

Issue Starts below:

So I've been playing hon basically since release. Voice chat has always worked no problem, using my Mac Laptop's built in mic.

However, sometime in the recent patches (i.e. last 3sh, last few weeks), voice chat has mysteriously just stopped working.

I have checked the settings, and the settings are set fine. My mic works fine on other applications (e.g. starcraft2, ichat, etc.). Same router, same internet.

Hence, I'm assuming something broke in 1 of the recent HON patches.

Any other MAC users having the same issue?

Hi Unknownmage,

The K2 engine keeps a log of the console. This is often very helpful in identifying your problem. Look under the following directory for your console.log -

Mac - /Users/Library/Application Support/Heroes of Newerth/game/

Please upload (http://tools.heroesofnewerth.com/upload.php) your console.log and post the url.

Thanks,
iGuy

Log File:

I also uploaded it thru hon's site.

I don't know how useful the logs will be though because it doesnt "error", it just doesn't work...

Hi Unknownmage,

Your console log is showing that you are using recording driver 0: Built-in Input and have 4 available drivers to choose from. Are you using a headset or are you trying to use the built in microphone? If you are trying to use the MAC's mic then you need to switch your driver to "Build in Microphone".

If you can give me a bit more information about your computer it would be great:

Hardware
Please include, your RAM, Sound Card, CPU, Input Device (internal or external mic and is it usb or not?).

Version
Please state what version of OS X you are using.

Thanks,
iGuy

Hah you rock, got it fixed.

I had the Mac-System-Preferences Input setting to Line In (but I use the internal microphone).

Apparently iChat uses this as a default regardless of your system preferences, and Ventrilo/TS have separate settings where you select the Input which I had already done.

Not sure how hard it would be, but you guys should try to add that feature in the Voice Settings to select the input! =D

Thanks so much for the help!!!!!
