About a month ago I formatted my hard drive and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit (previously was running XP 32bit). Since then I have reinstalled the majority of my games and have played over 30 different games with no issues. A few days ago I installed HoN and had been playing it. At seemingly random times while I was in a game I experienced the freeze/lock/audio loop followed by my monitor going blank for a few seconds and then the game appearing again with lowered fps. I didn't think too much of it at the time and continued playing HoN games for the past couple of days while having this issue in almost every game. Today I went to turn on my computer and the monitor just stays blank and nothing happens. I suspected this issue to be related to these in game problems and searched it on my laptop. I found this thread http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?t=151459 where they experienced the same in game problem followed by multiple hard drives failing a few days later. The reply insists that there is no way that HoN can effect your hardware like this. I'm sorry but yes it can. This game has literally destroyed my hardware and my computer no longer works at all. I have been playing tons of other games over the past month with no issues and have only ever had this in game problem with HoN followed by my computer completely failing a few days later. I am extremely angry with this since I have been spending the last month reinstalling and configuring everything and now it is most likely gone along with all of my data.
I assure you that all of my drivers were up to date. Here is the hardware configuration I was using:
Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500
Asus P5ND72-T Premium
4GB OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 Reaper HPC Edition
I am now aware, after searching this problem, of the issue between Windows 7 and Nvidia graphics cards with HoN however it is now much too late as it has already raped my computer. Unfortunately I cannot provide you with any game logs since I now have no access to my hard drive. I have not yet determined exactly which hardware components have been affected but these issues will definitely cost me hundreds of dollars to replace them. I believe that HoN is most certainly the cause of these hardware failures and hold them completely responsible.
