I posted in the "Server Issues" section however, it might be more accurate to place it in this section.

http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?t=212472 Is my other thread.

The gist of the problem is that just recently (within a week or two), certain USE servers have suddenly started becoming extremely laggy for me (~300 ping on average). This is really strange, because I am quite close to USE servers (I live in ON, Canada), and haven't ever had a similar problem to this before. (I've had micro disconnects, and lag in certain games due to my ISP, but this is a constant issue on the same servers, and never on any other servers).

I did a tracert on one of the servers giving me a problem:

C:\Users\Nick>tracert 174.34.164.66
Tracing route to 174.34.164.66.rdns.ubiquityservers.com [174.34.164.66]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.0.1
2 80 ms 99 ms 99 ms dsldevice.lan [192.168.1.254]
3 44 ms 45 ms 44 ms dsl-207-112-56-1.tor.primus.ca [207.112.56.1]
4 49 ms 47 ms 49 ms 216.254.130.117
5 48 ms 49 ms 48 ms 216.254.128.1 [216.254.128.1]
6 49 ms 48 ms 48 ms gi1-0-3.bb1.tor.primus.ca [216.254.128.164]
7 138 ms 150 ms 140 ms ams-ix.ams01.mzima.net [195.69.144.73]
8 231 ms 229 ms 233 ms 69.174.120.105
9 253 ms 251 ms 251 ms te1-7.cr1.chi1.us.packetexchange.net [69.174.120.74]
10 252 ms 260 ms 360 ms ge0-ubiquity.cust.ord01.mzima.net [72.37.148.178]

The last hops all timed out, but by that point I'm already at ~300 ping, which is way too high for a USE server. I'm guessing the problems are at the 7th and 8th hop as both increase ping by ~90. (90 ping out of the way and back?)

Servers that give me the ~300 ping are USE 1, 2, 15-19, 30, 31, 34-36, 41-54, and the two test client servers.

Anyone have an idea what the problem might be or what I can do to fix it?

Update: I've googled the bad bounce (ms ams-ix.ams01.mzima.net [195.69.144.73]) and apparently it's in Amsterdam, which means my connection from my USE home to a USE server bounces to Europe and back, which would explain my ping.

All the servers I've checked that gave me the mega lag issue were owned by Ubiquity Servers, so i've contacted them in hopes of getting a reply.

I'd like to think I know a decent amount about computers, but as far as internet hops I'm sort of confused. Who should I be trying to get a response from, HoN, the server owners, or should I try to contact my ISP and get a solution from them?

I would assume that contacting the server owners makes the most sense from what I understand, but I'm not sure.

Ubiquity Servers changed the routing for these paths, so the issue is now fixed.
