So last night HoN stopped working. My whole chat area is blank (with the exception of the Status chat tab. When I click on it, it just does the "Attempting to connect to chat server (Attempt 1 of 5)" thing. It says there are 0 people online, that I have 0 friends, etc. And Matchmaking is grayed out so that I can't click on it. Also when i try to do a public game, next to no games show up, with 0 responses.
The first time this happened, I re-logged like 3 times and it automatically started working again. I played a few games and then got off. 2-3 hours later i got back on, and it did the same thing except this time, I have relogged upwards of 15 times, and still nothing.
My internet connection is fine, I haven't ever had a firewall problem with HoN, and I can't find any kind of similar problem on here. I posted last night about this in General Discussion as well as the TechSup forum..nothing. No replies whatsoever. I'm just pretty frustrated about this. I have never had problems with HoN at all until yesterday. So I was kind of hoping that I could get a quick answer, but I guess I'm just a little impatient. Anyways, any help would be extremely wonderful...even just some quick suggestions would suffice.
Thanks guys.
Even though you've never had firewall issues, could you try disabling them (Windows-Firewall, 3rd party, router/modem firewall)?
Here is a generic answer for networking problems, please post the missing information.
Attempts
Please try these solutions before posting your thread, and let us know that you did. Disable your firewall, disable your antivirus, and configure your router to allow allow outgoing traffic on ports 80 (login/update), 11031 (chatserver) and 11235-11335 (game servers). If you don't know how to do this, try plugging directly into your modem with no router in between.
Network
Please post the details of your network as follows, are you on a home network, or a school network? What is your average ping for servers closest to you? What is your bandwidth (Downloading and uploading)? Do you use a proxy?
Console.log
The K2 engine keeps a log of the console. This is often very helpful in identifying your problem. Look under the following directory for your console.log:
Windows XP -C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\My Documents\Heroes of Newerth\game\.
Windows Vista/7 - C:\Users\[user]\Documents\Heroes of Newerth\game\.
Please upload (http://tools.heroesofnewerth.com/upload.php) your console.log and post the url.

Okay, I disabled Kaspersky and Windows and tried logging in...nothing. My network is a Home network.
One thing that HAS been happening lately that is kind of weird is that for the past couple of days (it has happened twice i think) my internet has shut off for absolutely no reason (my sister's, her bf's, and my mom's internet were all still working). I tried a few different things and then finally found that I had been disconnected from the Homegroup for some reason, so I wasn't allowed on the network. The Homegroup troubleshooter fixed that though.
My console log apparently wont fit as an attachment, so I will just copy and paste it in another reply i guess.
By the way, my download speed is usually somewhere around 300-500 kb per second, and i'm not sure about the upload speed (my internet works fine, pretty decent pace). My ping in games is usually around 30-50 I believe, and no I don't think we use a proxy. I also did allow the ports and all of that.

Actually, I wasn't sure if you needed the entire log or not, and the very bottom part seems to be what it's dealing with (since it is talking about TMM and the chat server). So I'll just post this part and if you need more I can post it.

So my sister's boyfriend walks into my room, and I tell him what's going on. He asks, "Did you restart your computer?" and I was like "uh, no...why would I?" I restart it, and voila, it works. He didn't really know why it was acting like that or why that fixed it, but..it worked. So thanks for..trying to help, I..guess..? :p
If you click on the "upload" in my previous post, you would find a place where to upload the log...
Anyway, like most people would, I assumed you would have restarted you computer at least once since the problems started...guess I will put that into the "Possible solutions list" since there are still people out there, who don't try this first...
So in the end, your connection wasn't fine. However, I am glad you fixed it.
