Introduction

Hi, and welcome to this guide to Maliken.
First of all, I think Maliken is a fairly flexibel hero with item builds. So basically, you just get some items that depends on the situation. The reason for this is that Maliken has pretty much everything you need. To list; lifesteal, pretty awesome base damage, escape skill, nuke skill, crit skill, range skill (also silences and disables).

Enough about that, I will try to give a more in-depth guide below.

Skill Build

1. Sword Throw
2. Sword of the Damned
3. Sword Throw
4. Sword of the Damned
5. Sword Throw
6. Possession
7. Sword Throw
8. Sword of the Damned
9. Sword of the Damned
10. Hellbourne's Zeal (NOTE: Charges/% sometimes lie in amount)
11. Possession
12. Hellbourne's Zeal
13. Hellbourne's Zeal
14. Hellbourne's Zeal
15. Attribute Bonus
16. Possession
17-25. Attribute Bonus

There's, like, totally zero variation in Maliken's skill build. So blind following this guide won't do any harm.

Skills In-depth
Sword Throw:

This is just a case of getting the hang of it. You should master it after, like, 10 minutes.
Process: Click in the direction you want the blade to be thrown. Press the skill again while 'flying', and you'll instantly blink to it. The sword quits flying when you blink to it.
When stunned, have it in qeue, so it will auto-activate when out of stun.
Then blink to it. And you're probably free to go.

Sword of the Damned:

Situational skill. I actually never use the Life Essence. Sometimes in early game. After that I have Enchanted Flames permanently active. Because it just gives way more damage.
I don't have really much to say about this. Just activate after you died, because it will deactivate :p

Possession:

After you blink in, just activate this. Simple as that. And remember, if someone channeling a skill (like succubus' ultimate), you can first hit it after you activated your ultimate to interrupt it. Because it casts fear on the enemy, and it also silences.

Item Builds:

The Tank:

This is my favourite build. Basically because I don't like having low hp, and the risk to die easily.

Early Game:

http://www.hondb.com/img/items/recipes/power_supply/icon_64.png 1x Power Supply - 494 Gold

http://www.hondb.com/img/items/basic/mana_potion/icon_64.png 2x Mana Potion - 100 gold (Just to be sure you can always regen your hp with Life Essence. This way you will also be able to early gank someone.)

Early-Mid Game:

http://www.hondb.com/img/items/basic/marchers/icon_64.png Marchers - 500 Gold (Just to give you the ability to chase enemy heroes.)

http://www.hondb.com/img/items/recipes/helm_of_the_black_legion/icon_64.png Helm of the Black Legion - 2225 Gold (Gives you just enough HP regen for the Enchanted flames and +300 HP will also help you surviving at Early-Mid Game)

Mid Game:

http://www.hondb.com/img/items/recipes/shamans_headdress/icon_64.png Shaman's Headdress - 2050 Gold (For the magic reduction you will need since you are the tank. Also, with the HP regen there will be no reason to use Life Essence anymore.)

http://www.hondb.com/img/items/recipes/steamboots/icon_int_64.png Steamboots (Strength) - 1850 Gold (Some extra HP (regen), damage and speed.)

[Optional]:
http://www.hondb.com/img/items/recipes/shrunken_head/icon_64.png Shrunken Head - 3900 Gold (Since you are going to jump into an enemy group with your Sword Throw, the magic immunity skill on this item will make you practically ungettable.)

Late Game:

http://www.hondb.com/img/items/recipes/brutalizer/icon_64.png Brutalizer - 3100 Gold (Giving you bash, +6 strength, +30 damage, I won't even have to explain about getting this item.)

http://www.hondb.com/img/items/recipes/runed_axe/icon_64.png Runed Axe - 4350 Gold ((AoE) damage, HP and Mana regen, to give you the ultimate HP regen and some additional Mana regen.)

Or (please submit your opinion about these)

http://www.hondb.com/img/items/recipes/hack_and_slash/icon_64.png Hack and Slash - 4500 Gold (Extra movement speed for great chasing ability, better attack speed, slow, strength, etc...)

(Thanks for the icons, Kittens!)

More coming soon...

The % lies I think.

I've been playing with it and it'll say 70% but I will only crit like it's 10-20.

Incomplete guide is incomplete... and broken like the skill it proclaims to be.

I was busy with school, so I didn't really have time to check the replies on my guide. Neither did I had time to update it ;)

And about the skill, I thougth it was broken because the charges/% lies. But i've got it out of the guide now ;)

UPDATE: Edited the guide, added 'The Tank' item build.
