High GPU-Usage in Menu

So, my problem is, that when I'm in the menu (with the volcano and stuff in the background) my GPU-usage is at 95-99%, while in-game it's below the 30% mark.

Earlier there was an option to turn off the effects in the background, nowadays I can't find it. :/

GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4850
with a late 2009 GPU driver (8.661.0.0) on Windows 7 64-bit... since the newer ones are causing some problems.

Wow, that's a pretty old driver. ^^

Which was the latest driver you tried? You should at least use one of the late 2010 drivers, they work fine for me with the 4850 and W7 64bit.

You can find the "Disable Backgrounds" option under Settings -> Interface -> Disable Background.
