View Full Version : How do you counterward a warded pull?

So, someone decides to ward your pull spot and you are smart enough to, at least, buy a ward of revelation to find their ward and kill it...but now...your actual ward is warding the pull spot!

What am I missing? Are you just screwed w/r/t someone warding your pull? Or is the timer on the ward shorter and, therefore, worth getting maybe 2-3 pulls out of it for 100g?

since the ward has a reveal radius higher than the sight raduis place it far away the ward wont "see" the ewnemy ward but it will reveal it . Hard to understand i know

1000 range on revelation wards. So just place them far enough away from the creeps that they don't block their spawning.

Put it like 500 units right in front of the creep spawn and it will reveal inside as well, and it won't block the creeps.

Sometimes you need a flying courier (most practical means of sight) to see the ward through the trees. Camps are 500 range, so once you memorize where the middle is, place the invis ward somewhere between 500-800 (probably 600 to be safe) and you'll guarantee yourself to find it and not block.

If camps are 500 range, then the ward can be either 500 units off to one side or 500 units off to the other side.

If you put your counterward on one side, exactly 501 units away from the camp, and the real ward is on the other side - 500 units away - that would mean the revelation ward with a range of 800 does not see the real ward.

That would imply that you have to get at least slightly lucky. Is that correct?

Ah, the key being the reveal radius being bigger than the actual sight radius. Makes sense now, thanks!

Can't you just counterward the spot then if you find you are blocking the creeps destroy your own ward?

Just so you know, it's not sight that blocks creeps from spawning, its the actual object being inside the camps radius. Even a courier works.

There is no luck involved if you watch one side of the camp for the first 30 seconds to see where they placed it

the motion of placing the ward only gives you direction. You still need to guess the actual location.

Ya but seeing where they are when they place it guarantees that you can get their ward without using multiple counterwards or blocking your own pull assuming you have a general idea of the ranges involved

Its safer to put the counterward behind the creep camp. Like near the ramp on hellbourne, and near the upper creep spot on legion. This is because most warders place the ward right in the center of the camp, and smart warders will hide it in trees. Placing it closer to these spots while still outside is a guaranteed ward kill.

Games on higher psr 1700+, there will be lots of wards placed, get eye on the flying courier, to counter all the wards, those 700gold earn themself fast enough, instead of using 100g each ward.

Or build puzzlebox level 3 ( valid lategame on most heroes )
