This bug has been reported several (http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?t=207548) times (http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?t=208431), yet without detailed instructions to reproduce or fix the problem. A thread (http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?t=205966) concerning the same issue with more than 100 replies can be found in the general forum.

Steps to reproduce:

Slow down your internet connection, e.g. by downloading HoN (http://dl.heroesofnewerth.com/HoNClient-2.0.6.1.exe) or, more preferably, by parallely watching several (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oshdmSzR_uA) big (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1YYQS8DteU) videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Z0NhzkeIZY) on (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vYnYdxnCAE) youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4d4sFpfiB2c) in different tabs.
Start HoN and login.
Display the stats of any match, e.g. by clicking the "Match Stats" button, which should display the stats of the most recent game you have played (if you’ve just started HoN, at least).
Try to display the stats of another match.

What should happen?
The stats of the other match should be displayed.
What does happen?
The stats of the requested match are indeed displayed. However, almost immediately afterwards, the "Retrieving match information" window pops up and the stats of the first match you’ve displayed are shown again.
Can’t reproduce?
Chances are you have an awesome fast internet connection. Try to download multiple large files at once, from different servers or attempt the youtube approach.
Your latency (ping) should increase significantly. Open the cmd.exe and type ping google.com -n 20 (or any server that assumedly is close to you) and compare the output average response time to when running the command without generating traffic. My ping rises to 500ms, up from 100ms.
How to fix it?

Speed up your internect connection.
As soon as the stats of the requested match are shown — that is, before "Retrieving..." pops up again —, click the "Refresh" button. Probably the most convenient solution.
Alternatively, enter the match ID manually. Sucks, but works.

I'll attempt to replicate this later, thanks

Can't reproduce, even with my slowish connection.

An easier way to slow down your connection would be to open multiple browser tabs with large youtube videos.

My internet can't handle streaming videos when i has downloading HoN.

“Slow down your internet” might not be explicit enough and downloading HoN might not be the best way to accomplish it. I’m downloading with four connections—utilizing all of my available bandwidth—which causes my latency to increase by a factor of 4-5. When pinging google.de from my cmd.exe twenty times (via ping google.de -n 20), I have an average of about 100ms. While downloading, ping grows up to an average of 450ms.

While downloading, the stats view will jump back to the first match certainly. On the other hand, with no downloads running, this happens only very sporadically.

After all, it’s just a guess that HoN has some sort of pessimistic fallback routine when a match stats request cannot be served within a jiffy. The described problem and slow connection happen to coincide significantly for me, though.

Does clicking the “Refresh” button help? Click it as soon as the stats of the requested match show up initially, before the other stats are loaded again.

The internet connection can be fully working for me and I am having this problem.. I can test that I can download for 3 Mbit/s seconds before, pause the download, check if I can load match stats, but I can't, and checking again my connection and it is fine.. So shouldn't have to be the internet connection.. :S

If i try to watch stats for a game i did not play, the game loads that records of that game to the screen for 0.5seconds and then changes to a game that i played and recently watched it's stats

Same. Its so ****in annoying, and S2 is not able to fix it the last 5 patches. GJ.

Because we don't know the true source of the problem - at least the OP tried a sort of replication procedure.

If a surefire replication procedure is provided, there's a higher chance that S2 will fix this problem more rapidly.

It happens to me only when i try to view match stats directly from last 20 matches table on player stats page. I never managed to view stats from there, i always have to type match id in order to display it.

This also happens to me every time I try to view the match stats of a game from anyone other than myself. I have to enter the match stats manually to stop the match stats switching to my own game stats. I have a completely vanilla install (i.e. no mods) and live in Australia.

This bug usually happens after you have played/spectated 1 full match.

So I just had this bug happen to me (it happens to me all the time actually) but this time I had only just logged onto HoN and had not played or spectated a match. Whats weird is that usually when I am trying to look at other players match stats it keeps defaulting back to my most current game. However, this time before opening my own stats I looked at someone elses and their most current game. Now when I go back to my own stat page and look at any of my recent games the screen jumps back to the match stats of the other persons account I was initially looking at.

Not sure if that helps narrow down what causes this behaviour, but it seemed like a unique instance of the bug that might prove helpful.

So like how do I fix this? The match at the top of my list(46223053) never goes away and it reports that it has not been submitted yet. If I click on the next match it shows the details etc.

Try deleting recentlyplayed.xml.

That is a different bug and belongs here: http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?t=199103

This has happened to me for months now. My solution: Exit and restart HoN usually fixes it.
However after I see a match stat, the next one is always bugged and comes back to the previous match stat that I saw a second or two ago. Same symptoms as the OP stated, but exiting HoN and starting it again fixes it for the time being.
Any progress for this problem?

You should try to write down the MatchID u wanna take a look into, and copy paste it into the MatchID fetching field.

That works for me and is definetly faster than restarting hon complety ( which doesnt even fix it for me ).

BASICALLY.

Whenever you open "Match Stats" interface, it tries to load the most latest game that you played.

So when you view ANOTHER persons' stats and click on their match id. It tries to open their match id (as expected) BUT then immediately afterward replaces it with stats from your most recent match played.

Its basically doing what its supposed to. And then going "Oh I just opened(changed interface to) the Match stats interface. Let me now load most recent stats for this account"

--- Upon further research ---

On freshly opening(/restarting) HoN; your first attempt to open any matchid from yours or any other accounts stats page works.

This matchid is stored SOMEWHERE and the game tries to re-open it every time the Match stats interface is opened. (Or queues to open it after whatever matchid you actually wanted to see).

This matchid ONLY gets replaced if you click on something from the "View Recent Game Stats" list.

---

So if I were fixing this bug there would be two ways to fix it.
a) Replace matchid stored SOMEWHERE with requested matchid. (since Match Stats interface will open that on default) [Easyfix perhaps?]
b) Fix the function that is passing a matchid to the MatchStats interface in an attempt to open it. [Slightly harder fix maybe]

This is my console.log which (according to me) should contain enough information for fixing this bug.

Hopefully you guys fix it. Its annoying copying down MatchID's (like the above poster mentioned as a workaround) or restarting hon every time.
