View Full Version : [Gameplay] Early Concede Incentive (Repost w/ Poll)

So... I like quick games. I like the idea of getting more games in a shorter amount of time. I (of course) really love a long great balanced game...

I like the idea of having the early win reward.

However I find its backfiring in games. Hon2.0 has added more less experienced players to the MM pool. Often this makes a 5v5 game swing drastically to one side or the other rather quickly. I am fine with all that... But now these new people don't care how long the inevitable loss is going to take and especially don't want to give the other team the satisfaction of early win coins (the only reason they joined mm was to get coins in the first place, not even to play a good game... which is what a lot of us who start a MM game are looking for).

So why not do this...

Up the early win reward from 2 to 3 coins...

And add an incentive to the losing team for conceding early... give them one coin.

This means if they are gracious in defeat and not troll like in attitude they would get 3 coins instead of 2.

You could reward other good behavior the same way you do wards... an extra coin if you die less then 1 or 2 times during a game?

This idea is just to promote good community play. Not increase coin farm drastically or make anyone mad.

Please don't make too much fun of me!!!

Not sure why you'd upgrade the win reward to 3 coins.

And an extra coin for losing fast sounds stupid, although I get the idea, it's just that it might give people incentive to concede earlier than they would have otherwise.

"Oh look, 24 ½ mins into the game and seems like we're losing, lets at least get that extra coin."

Otherwise I appreciate the idea, but I don't think it's practical.
Reposting my comment from the other thread. But won't vote yet, since someone might convince me. I'm not entirely against this. ^^

first i would say that the basic idea behind it is the incentive to the conceding team...

the other ideas (such as 3 coins instead of 2) are incase balancing issues arise...

the other thing i would mention is that "oh look 24 1/2 min..." still saves the rest of the team having to wait out a 45 min stop. even if it gets done at 24 1/2 min.

further more... why not make it an incentive for a 20 min concede?

i dont want to force games to end early. but i do want to create an appreciation for those that do not try to make this community worse. because i think its getting out of hand.

Seriously though, no game is lost after just 20 minutes, unless the entire team is down by 0-5 individually and the opposing team has killed all your towers and your team consists of :bloo::wild::scou::nigh::mage: who all bought :ElderParasite: as their first item.

This is usually not the case though. I find that usually people give up way too easily. I've turned down several concedes where we then proceed to genocide the opposing team. I've also been the one voting for a concede, being turned down and then finding out we actually could still win.

I'm voting No now. ^^

Yep, people rage very quickly and give up the game even when there's still a chance. I've seen people who were asking to concede while their team was just 1 kill back (27 v 28, they proceeded to win the game). I especially hate those who claim the game is lost and will just sit on the fountain *ensuring* that the game is lost and forcing us to concede.
