Crash while updating

I've had problems for the last few updates, each time it will crash when the grey loading bar reaches ~10%. [K2 exception] Similar to all the others that have posted.

Again, the only solution is to reinstall with the updated installer or to copy over the changed files from a working install. Either way gets you back playing the game, but does not fix the problem. My original base install was from approx August 2009 during beta.

Running WinXP Sp2, ATI X1950XT.

Would it be any use if I uploaded my /Update directory so you can confirm if the update files are actually being correctly downloaded?

Same problem with latest patch, I tried disabling Kaspersky 2009 Internet security, still doesn't work (k2 exception).

I was able to update to 2.0.6.2 fine. What caused the problem? Or did you guys not change anything?

Getting the same problem for every patch since 2.0.6.2.

Can a mod remove the [fixed] tag. Skimming the other threads, the only "fix" is to reinstall every time you release a patch. :\

The "Fix" is just to reinstall hon every time you guys send out a patch?

Has installing to C:\ been confirmed as a working fix?
Is it specific to the C drive? or will it work in the root of any drive?

I currently don't know of a fix for that particular error, so you will have to install the newest client this time, sorry.

2.0.17 -> 2.0.18 worked OK
Minor patches seem to work fine.

That's interesting, as 2.0.18 wasn't a minor patch. Anyway, I'll leave the thread open, please post how 2.0.19 goes when that is released.

Edit: Sorry, I was mistaken 2.0.18 for 2.0.17, I wasn't aware we had released a new patch. 2.0.18 does indeed appear to be a minor patch, the version number is a bit confusing though.

The only thing I changed? I recently uninstalled Kaspersky Internet security 2009 and swapped to Microsoft security Essentials.

Not sure if I previously attempted to update hon with KIS "disabled" (fairly sure I did though).
