Trying, hard, to watch game one of the recent SK vs eG lower bracket finals, what a ****ing joke. Ads every what, five minutes? Twice now, after an ad, it resets the stream completely, meaning I have to wait for it to load 50 minutes in again, and since it's not like youtube where you can pick any section of a video and jump to it, I have to wait like 5+ minutes for it to catch up to where it was, only for it to happen again.
Fileplay > own3d
youtube > all
edit: ok srsly someone just post here when these games make their way onto youtube, I cba.

You can still take them from own3d and put them elsewhere (youtube)

And they would get taken down almost immediately. They're on those specific platforms because that's what GG and Honcast support. The VODs are up on our site now and I'm currently watching them. (I had to leave after game one. :( I'm quite sad about it.)
Should work fine for everyone.

Why would they be taken down? Am I missing something?
On topic, I haven't watched the stream, but maybe people from US like chapy have a problem with Own3d, like they have with Fileplay. I agree with the no-seek option though, so annoying that you cannot jump to any part of the video you want :/

It wasn't the speed, my net is fast as hell. It's how buggy the site was for me. There was like a 25% chance that after an ad commercial it would reset the entire stream, as if I hit f5. And yea, no seeking? Terrible.

No seeking sucks indeed, but like someone already said - Adblock takes care of your ad's.

AdBlock doesn't take care of video embedded ads.

They'd get taken down because the videos are our property and thus are not allowed to be posted elsewhere without permission. We get money for page/video views due to ads and general traffic. Obviously posting them on YouTube would be harmful to that.

Actually, it does for a good number of them. Haven't watched an ad on YouTube ever, for example.

Trying to watch the replay of the stream of MSI vs SK, and every time it goes to a commercial it takes me like 15 minutes for it to pass. SO lame. Worst site ever.

own3dtv is great. Great quality, viewers never have any issues with my stream. Doesn't buffer nonstop like some streaming sites and if you have adblock your good to go on the ads.

ad block destroys revenue for the stream provider. Please note that when cost of stream is greater than or equal to income earned sites go bye bye.
I would definitely advise telling your users to support the ads not block them. They are vital for the future of your host and the industry model as a whole.
Support Guile! If you like an ad click on it, it won't interrupt the stream.

Tell that to companies that went for agressive marketing techniques while creating their banners. Banners that would sound as soon as you mouseover, 30 seconds ads on video, etc.
They screwed themselves, not the ones using adblock.

Very rarely see them on reputable sites. I always excluded them from honcast the only ones that would show up were when they categorized them incorrectly on google from time to time.

It depends alot on your ISP it seems, I usually spike like no matter how much I lower the quality with justin.tv so I'm very happy that GR started using own3D instead as I can actually watch their stuff live now without having major spikes in the middle of the teamfights, like I mostly do when watching Honcast :(

I'm not having lags or ad problems, but I still find own3d TV pratty bad. Why, you ask? No "pop up window" button! So useful feature to have and yet there's none -..-

There are only a couple business models that could work.
A.) Force people to pay to watch - lose 90% of the viewership
B.) Sell ads - annoy a very small percentage

Ya, the ads mid video\stream kill it for me too. I don't care if there are ads everywhere, as long as it doesn't interrupt my viewing. That means auto playing audio banners that I have to find and mute, or even worse the ones where you can't mute them and the ones that play during a video that I can't stop regardless...

Basically because Internet economy doesn't work if the entire world uses AdBlockers.
