Looking for a high definition (prefer 1080p) video capture software. Not looking to stream to a livestream or anything, just record in 1080p.

Anyone stumbled across a solution for 1080p video capture? I tried what breaky does for his casts but not too fond of it plus he doesn't record in HD (uploading that to a stream might pose to be a problem)

Are you looking for a gamecapturer or a screencapturer? In both cases the best solution costs money.
For screencaptures I recommend Camtasia.
For gamecaptures Fraps is pretty much the only one that really gives you that nice crisp image. XFIRE is supposed to do a good job with it too, but for some reason it caused a lot of lags on my machine which fraps didn't. Maybe you just gotta try it out.

yeah, looking to capture hon replays. I will have to check out fraps, i know the free version is terrible, maybe there is hope for the paid version.

On the real though it depends on what OS you are on. I presume you are on windows but im a linux guy. Kazam is a nice easy one that works well.

This seemed pretty comprehensive:

I advise recording 720. It's actually harder to read in 1080 than 720 and the file sizes for upload are a world apart.
