View Full Version : stat reset

you should be able to reset your stats whenever you want back to 0.

some may say that shouldn't be allowed because noobs will just keep hitting reset.

BUT

what about those who started the game, and got stuck with noobs and now their psr is really low?

I'm not a bad player, but getting 4 noobs on your team and they have no clue what their doing or wont work as a team, it makes it hard to solo 1v5.

Basically, I got stuck with a lot of noobs. I get a good team, the other team concedes and I get NO points to increase my psr. And when I have a noob team, I try to concede so my points wont get so ****ed and theirs always one prick to vote no.

So, we need a reset stat option. I DO NOT want to be classified as "noob" because my psr got ****ed because of other players in a random match.

This is an iffy topic, maybe one stat reset per x amount of months or something like that.

What is the difference between working your score up from 1300 and 1500? You've still got to work to erase that noob stain from when you were new at the game.

My psr is terrible right now, but I wouldn't reset even if they gave me the option. I hope to break even eventually. To me, breaking even and not going negative is the truest sign of whether or not you're still a noob or not.

People care about thier psr way too much. I almost got to the 1700's, then me and my mates i usually play with hit a rough streak and started loosing almost every game, got down to 1400's and now I'm back on my way up. Your stats really dont show your level of skill, like someone on these forums have said, its an individual ranking for a team effort.

I dont think its a good idea, stat reset should only be available once the game is officially out of open beta.

I don't think its a good idea.

Imagine what trolls can do. Two join a game, they start feeding on purpose. Then they can just reset their stats. BAM.

I've always like the idea of rolling stats. Maybe a rolling 100 games.

I've played 140 games with a 1:1 KDR but if it was rolling 100 games it would be closer to 1.3:1.

BIG NO.

Solution.
-To ensure competitive play - every summer, winter, X months or years - everyone will receive a stat reset.
-Stats should be recorded for history purposes, boasting, what ever.
-The outdated/archived stats from previous summer, winter, X months or years should be held via HoN main website and/or in game

my 2 cents.

BIG YES.

Reasons;

- The stat reset every 4-6 months will ensure that all new players can get a chance to also boost their stats instead of playing with others who've been playing for a while and have way better stats.
- Stats will give an indication over time about how a player's skill has improved/declined.
- Archived stats from all stat resets should be kept on a website etc... (HLStatsX has a nice statistic system :D)

My 5 cents.

Individual players shouldn't be able to reset their stats.
There are plenty of reasons why HoN and many other games before "never" allowed it.

I think it should be allowed simply cos people who reach level 6 have a more difficult time bashing Noob Only games, then they simply make an extra account, everyone has like 19291 keys to send anyways, maybe 1 friend (19290 left) how long will these people create new accounts just cos they think noob bashing is fun?
oh wait... that may not have made an awful lot of sense.

My PSR is 800 now, I've played a 100 games. Never touched DOTA, purchased the game, but now I get kicked in "Noob Only" matches before it even starts.

Usually happens 2-3 times before I even get a match.

The thing that ruined my PSR was being a noob, I didn't know what I was doing and PSR shouldn't count until Level 5.

You should just be classed as "Noob" then the stats should count.

The other thing that screws it up is, dota players who clearly know what they are doing in noob only matches.

The worst one is, matches where someone leaves, so it's 4v5 for 30 minutes, and we usually end up losing. In my opinion, if the teams go uneven, the PSR shouldn't count if you play it full duration, I've left 4 games out of 100, a couple due to technical issues like lockups, I've always stayed the end.

Plus concede never works, there's always one person who sticks it out, even though it's hopeless, and I'm a fighter, i'm not sitting in the pool for 20 minutes like some people do. It should be MAJORITY vote.

I've paid for the game, please fix so I can play it without being kicked. Maybe make kicks a team vote rather than the host, cause hosts are usually more experienced so more inclined to kick you.

My first post on this topic didn't get published, thanks to the admins, so lets hope this one is.

It's a great game, now polish it.

Why are you even posting here if you dont know how the system works? Conceding doesnt give the team more or less points nor does it give yourself more or less points. If you concede u lose if they concede they lose etc. Learn how it works before u talk SH IT about the system. Ur just bad, get over it.

Stats for both the last 30 days and lifetime works well in Savage 2. I hope they do something similar with HoN.

Stats will be reset at launch.

Hey Brits, I remember hosting a game with you on my team (different account of mine though), so hi. =) That being said, I just wanted to reflect on some of the things you said.

My PSR is 800 now, I've played a 100 games.
The other thing that screws it up is, dota players who clearly know what they are doing in noob only matches.

This can be true, but it'd be true regardless of prior dota experience, as long as not everyone is of the same skill level, which is impossible to accomplish. None of PSR, kdr, etc. are truly accurate, and you just have to hope that you get that more skilled player on your team close to half the time. I remember when I first started playing HoN (and I count myself as an above average DotA player), I was pretty bad while trying to learn all the different heroes and the different interface.

Plus concede never works, there's always one person who sticks it out, even though it's hopeless, and I'm a fighter, i'm not sitting in the pool for 20 minutes like some people do. It should be MAJORITY vote.

I'm glad it isn't majority vote, especially in a noobs game. I can't tell you how many times someone has voted to concede, and when I look at their record, they're the 0-6, 1-8, or 0-11 player that caused the game to be imbalanced in the first place. Sure, we're probably not going to win, but you'd be surprised how many times my team has won a game after someone on *our* team voted to concede though. It just wouldn't make sense to play a late game hero if the game concedes so easily. Plus, I want to learn my hero, and that's impossible if people got to concede as often as they want.

I've paid for the game, please fix so I can play it without being kicked. Maybe make kicks a team vote rather than the host, cause hosts are usually more experienced so more inclined to kick you.

When you say "kick", it seems you mean when you're joining a game rather than after the game has already started since that requires a vote from all players. I'm afraid that would be a very bad fix if I, as host, couldn't kick people from the game before it starts. I try to keep the games fair so I need that ability to remove noobstompers or when someone has such a low PSR that the teams can't possible by balanced. There are always going to be jerk hosts that remove you because they don't want you to make them lose, but trust me, you *don't* want to be on their team anyway.

Hehe, not to mention, I love how people like the OP namco always blame everyone else for losing. When you find yourself always pointing fingers at others, you should probably start looking in the mirror. There's always that guy who's level 11, while everyone else is 18-19, yelling at everyone else for not playing the right way. ;)

I think you should be able 2 get 1 stat reset every 6 months. the reason for this being Noobs start and have no idea what there doing and while there learning the game they get this massive noob stats.

I think 1 reset every 6 months will give noobs a chance 2 reset there stats after they learn how 2 play a lil. Also i think that u should not start with a stat reset 2 prevent them noob farmers.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Or

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It could be u get a stat reset after 500 games or something but max 1 stat reset at a time ; )
