Hey guys,

I'm thinking about buying an xbox 360 (4 GB Model)

In the end of the day, I just want to know if the 4 GB's is enough.

I want to download geometry wars 2, and I currently own Rockband, Rockband2 and Lego Rockband.

Thanks in advance

Id probably aim for one with more storage, don't really know how much the saves and content is for xbox, but on my ps3 its usually between 100MB-1GB, fills up fast

I have a 4gb Flash drive that will give me an additional 3.5 gigs, and I can use more flash drives till I can afford a bigger HD

If money is the limiter, then by all means, no problem to make due with less hardrive space, probably just have to uninstall old games that you dont play anyway

Yeah I guess, or I can have like 20 USB sticks gathered from around the house 1-2 games per flash drive :D

Thanks

No, you can't.

You need verified USB sticks for the 360. There's only certain USB's that work, which are accepted by Microsoft. You can't just plug anything in, and transfer data.

This is the one; http://www.sandisk.com/products/gaming-cards/sandisk-xbox-360-usb-flash-drive
There's two versions. A 4 GB and 12 GB, iirc. They're quite expensive.

I'd totally recommend getting a larger HDD. It really does pay off.

Not all USB drives are guaranteed to work but the certified ones.

I've transferred data with a camera memory card with a USB attachment before.
I currently have a 4gb 360 S and I'm not having TOO many issues with space. Game saves don't take up much, the real space consumers are DLC and downloaded games.

Well, you're incredibly lucky then, in my opinion. I've tried, literally, over 30 different USB plugs, but none of them worked :/

Even if I can't manage to find a working USB stick, I can live with 4GB until I can buy an HD for it.

Yeah, 4g is enough to hold you off for a while. Just try to refrain from downloading too much until you get your HD.

Don't buy it.

If you're not buying the "new" xbox... Well the old ones make a lot of noise.

the USB port on the xbox doesn't guarantee anything but those two certified sticks will work.

however, you can by off brand usb controllers and use them on your xbox, plug in ipods and other mp3 players and they work fine. one of my friends bought a 1tb raid I external WD HDD and downloads and backups all his games that he buys online to that. im pretty sure he got the drive for a 150-200 dollars on some type of sale.

GT5 is a huge disappointment considering how long it took to make. Forza Motorsport 3 remains the best racing game of all time hands down. I spent money on a lot of the DLCs for that game and I have no regrets.

Ive played Forza 3 demo at GameStop. Nice game but at the cockpit view the camera is too close to the wheel IMO.

GT5 has over 1000 cars, it has tracks with rain,snow,dirt... it has buggys..some old VolksWagen minibusses and all kind of stuff...its like WRC and Regular Racing in one.GT5 took long to make but its a hell of a good game. Is it a dissapointment to you because it took too long? Have you even played the game itself? Since you said u have spent alot of money on Forza and you say GT5 is an disspointment so that means you have both consoles?

just buy the lowest GB one because it will break before you get to fill it up anyways

Another issue *bump*

I ordered it, but I'm not sure if my university allows xbox's on the network, I'm at a small university, so I have no idea whether this will work....any ideas?

call your university's support desk. if they do allow they will have information there. just talk to someone on the phone for a couple of minutes or drop by.

usually they require you to submit a form with your mac address and what not. not too hard, but the helpdesk should help you with that.

Used to be a 360 fan, it is a great console but it is outdated. PC taught me many ways in past two years that I never touch console again. I fully understand the console standing and where the direction is going, it ain't pretty.

Yeah, this. I remember my friend having some issues setting his up, but he fixed it in the end.
University internet is slow, I'm sure. Expect lag.

I've played both games, I don't own a PS3 but I have multiple friends that own GT5, and the general consensus is that FM3 remains the more polished game.

I couldn't care less about the 1000 car thing because no one actually has 1000 cars that they use, it's more like 50 or less.

The best part is FM4 was announced a couple of months ago, and will be out before next Christmas. GFG Gran Turismo. If FM3 was so good, what will FM4 be like?

Buying a 2005 console in 2011. I'm sorry but I don't support your decision.
