Hello,
I run fedora 12 (latest kernel) and have an ati 3870 with catalyst drivers version 0.10.073.000.000.027243 . When i go into hon i can not see my cursor at all. Things still highlight when i move the unseen cursor over them. I tried setting my mouse preferences so when i press control i can see where my mouse is. In hon when i press ctrl, the screen goes weird, i see my cursor (the hon cursor) and then the screen goes weird again and it disappears.
Please help me out
btw this is a completely fresh install of hon., and it never previously worked.
please do not tell me to reinstall

alright seemingly nonexistant mods i have some updates for you. My friend and I (mainly him) have been trying everything humanly possibly. We tried the change resolution trick, didnt work. I also downloaded Nexuiz (a free fps game) and it works flawlessly and I can see my cursor. This seems to lead me to the conclusion the the fault lies in the programming of hon.

Are you running with Compiz or some form of 3D desktop

Please delete ~/.Heroes of Newerth

Also once deleted and you have started HoN, if the cursor is still missing please switch to windows mode ( you will need to edit ~/.Heroes of Newerth/game/startup.cfg)

And btw this is an ATi bug not a HoN bug. ATi produce flawed drivers that do not meet the OGL spec. Can't do much if the drivers are crap

thanks a bunch
it works in wondows mode, and is pretty playable, only missing a bit of the screen

how is it that other games are able to make this work, however hon is not able to

oh, and the cursor only shows up when the mouse is moving, not when it stays in place
