hi there technical support forum.

i would like to inform you about 2 problems with running hon on arch linux. btw. i am an ordinary linux user and not a programmer or computer specialist. but i can handle my os to make and keep it running, as i've been using linux (and bsd beforehand) for about 7 years now.

1. segmentation faults

since hon 2.0 has arrived, i'm receiving a segfault nearly everytime i play a game. this happens with mods enabled as well as mods disabled too. it's not a problem for me, as the game isn't crashing, but i just wanted to inform you about that problem. if u like i can send you some logs. just tell me what you wanna have, if you wanna have sth. ^^

2. modem reboots

i guess it isn't normal that my modem reboots every second game approximately? while not running hon and various connections opened, my modem works perfectly without any problems for days, but with hon running (and no other connections opened) my modem reboots very often. that costs me about 1 or 2 minutes to reconnect everytime it's happening and as you can imagine, it's a little bit annoying to lose that time.

@ s2games

congratulations for the good work on making hon playable for linux users. it's the best rts game out there atm and i really like the fact that it's running native on my linux box.

merry xmas and god bless kongor

i know it's the wrong place to talk about that topic, but i didn't want to open a new thread somewhere, that no one ever reads or responds to! feel free to move that last section of my posting somewhere else if you like to.

it makes me a little bit sad, that a huge part of the player community sucks that much. we all know that a lot of people are flaming & whining around within games and via the forum. they take away a lot of fun from the game. as i remember it wasn't that bad in early closed beta days.

but i guess we shouldn't mind about those people too much, as we all know how some people behave under the anonymity of the internet ...

unfortunately i also don't have any ideas on how to make the community acting a little bit more grown-up, respectful and friendly towards each other and especially you (the programmers & hosts) and us (the normal community members).
