[REQUEST] Blood Hunter Tips

Ok, i really like the idea of the blood hunter, i've played a few games and i've read the few guides on this forum.

However, ive run into a few problems.

On the forum, each guide is basically met with "this is ****, learn to play BH and delete this rubbish guide" or some such.

In game, i find it hard to be REALLY usefull outside of ganks. I seem to die too quickly, and im not sure if i should be going pure damage (i.e wingbow) or going to lifesteal aura. Lifesteal "feels" right on blood hunter but i dont know if its actually best.


What im really asking for most is a good item guide for blood hunter. As the forum varies in ideas a lot and i dont know where to start.

At the moment im going:

Obligitory starting items (runes, pieces or recipes, minor totems ect)
2x Soulscream
Steam boots
Abyssal skull (this first because of mana regen)
Whispering helm
Helm of the black legion
Wing bow


Is this ok? What can make it better? I seem to bge struggling most late game, where im convinced BH should be better.

You dont need Helm of the black leigon.

You also do not need life steal ... as you get large amounts of life back from last hitting creeps / heroes.

I usually run Steam boots + 3 bracers then rush mock


Edit: realize your damage should already be pretty high by mid game due to your first skill which gives +80% damage. Cast your ult + first skill on yourself (if there arent any dangerous casters around) and have at it.

Ok so bracers of soulscreams? Why no helom though? It seems very cheap for the protection and hp it provides.

Also, is it just me or does the blood hunter not to relativly little damage early on? Especially if your not benefitting from the +12 damage soul screams provide?



Edit. Sneaky, thanks for that link but ive read those guides. And every one has been met with bad remarks. Or at least more bad remarks than good, thats why im asking in a seperate thread.

HotBL is really only a solid decision on a few heroes; namely jungleing heroes.

And honestly? It's not that cheap ... Its over 2k - which can get you 3 bracers which offer more life than it does.

The reason why you wouldn't get black legion is it doesnt scale well into late game for what your role is. Bloodhunter isnt there to be absorbing all the damage, even though he does take damage you shouldn't be taking enough of it. Bloodhunter is much more suited and should be much better at doing tons of damage and receiving the health back from a kill.

If you're really worried about your HP just go bracers, but you should be very well off doing soulscream rings.

Spam his ult and use the silence on casters.
