In case you missed it, PC Gamer posted an article about Casual Mode, a new Game mode coming to Heroes of Newerth once HoN 2.0 hits!

Casual Mode will be coming to HoN this coming Monday, and will be replacing Easy Mode as HoN's faster paced, more action packed game mode! Casual Mode will feature a variety of changes compared to easy mode, some of the most noticeable ones being no gold loss on death and tower armor reduction depending on the number of enemy heroes alive. Although Casual Mode shares many similarities with Easy Mode, the goal of Casual mode is to create a mode that is more in-line with Normal mode, making the transition from Casual to Normal Mode and vice versa less painful on the player. Unlike Easy Mode, we hope to make Casual mode a mode all players can enjoy without having to worry about tainting their stats!

We hope you're looking forward to this new game mode as much as we are and we hope to see you in-game this coming Monday!

At the moment this is the mode that HoN really needs and i'm very happy that S2 created it (Of course if it's as good as it seems in videos,descriptions and screens) Because that's what HoN sometimes is missing, Playing normal games sometimes gets me so depressed. But this mode seems will bring Fun and care free hours of playtime and i will just enjoy game itself .

Oh hai guyz, i was just watchin the trailer and is pretty sweet. I found it humorous tho that in the new casual mode there is no exp loss when people deny creeps from you. That along with the no gold loss on death seems to materialize from the game LoL. I've been playing a lot of EM but I enjoy the skill curve that gold loss and denies bring in, so I may have to move up to Normal Mode.... Those two things alone do make it much more casual.

The tower works like this.

1 Player in you're Team Dies, the Towers armour decrases! (You're Towers)
1 Enemy player dies, the tower armour decrases! (Enemy Towers)
The whole enemy team dies, Tower have no armour at all, PUSH it to the limit!

I dnt understand what hon is trying to say, if noobs are being posers and playing normal and sucking they should first learn how to play EM. I dnt like the switch of casual mode wth em. Is hon panicing because dota 2 is coming out. THis is either the most dumb change yet or the greatest thing. It will be like SC2 changing zergs and terrans taht lost many players. I am one of the most active player on hon and this is one of the move that might make me quit hon.

Hon team I hope you see my comment why not just mode or option to change into rather than changing it. I hate playing normal because every stupid noob thinks of their stats being 0% em then go into the game play for 40 minute and all they have is a ghost marcher. This is fun? i hate playing normal unless I guild with friends and clanmates. Losing zero gold will help make noobs think they are good, this is stupid. The fun part of the game is trying not to die and lose gold and kill your enemy and will gold.

Can't say I'm fond of the changes coming in 2.0... I do not WANT to be more aggressive I ENJOY being careful and farming up. I only played EM because my friends wanted to and it was possible to be laid back while at the same buckling down and being serious for a couple minutes could have rewards.

Also the tower armor changes counter-intuitive.
S2 says: Be more aggressive everyone!
S2 says: But when you get genocide'd your towers will be absolutely defenseless to the counter attack.

How does this not ENCOURAGE turtling? People getting themselves ganked/dieing to stupid things now has an extremely detrimental effect on the team where as before it could be overcome sometimes.

But now denies do nothing?
Death isn't a penalty to the person doing the dieing, just to everyone else?
It's like I'm really playing League of Legends.

Umm, people QQing about HoN is going to be JUST as LoL...
The noob change affects only Casual mode... I have to ask WHAT THE FCK are u all QQing about CM if you posses enough skill to play Team MM and Normal,I repeat POSSES ENOUGH SKILL TO PLAY NORMAL MODES.
CM won't be the only mode, it's just a way to introduce HARD gameplay to small to none experienced players. TBH I think new accounts should get a Hero tracks in CM mode and a second rank like "Casual Veteran" for over 200+ Cm games. Any player that owned with say 5 heroes in Cm with ultimately be a good team-player in a real, noob-free help, game mode. Say this scenario. I had a Night Hound making Assassin's Shroud in AP once. Was a 1600+ Psr game. He called 9 people noobs cus, and I quote "Assassin's shroud lowers my fade time"
This has been engraved on my brain just to remind myself what bunch of silly noobs play HoN in the 1st place.
If such people had a real practice mode ( even though there is a mode called practice, and a tutorial and over 2000 tutorial clips online, with detailed previews of heroes.)
We then come to a cold and sad fact, people don't want to learn anything. They wont to face roll and own. That is why LoL takes the most quit players from HoN. You need to learn, and practice a lot to be a great player, one capable of playing every hero, switching build according to one's enemy and own ally team. I think that CM will greatly improve, if not overall skill, but practice awareness to it's players. And for us more skilled, just a rofl moments "Hahaha I am owning noobs with my skill"
PS. Short-term CM players cant do anything in Random Hero.

You cant just pick a hard carry an expect to pwn! The beginning-mid game is so entirely directed by teamfights in this new CM that sitting and farming would often hurt you. So a semi-carry or even any support could equally rape. I love all these theories that people try to present as facts when really they were just premeditated rambling.

seriously, em was so imba that it needed to be removed from stat tracking. CM doesnt track stats and its for people who dont play on a competitive level.

if you want to play seriously and turtle and use strategy, just play the BALANCED MODE, which IS NORMAL MODE.

And they are trying to get you to use Matchmaking, so pub stats arent going to be the basis everyone uses now (hopefully, as they are so inaccurate as of current).

CM is for the people who want to join a game and not get raged at by some guy who takes the game way to seriously. the idea is that the ragers will stick to their competitive normal mode, and leave the people who want to play casually alone.

there is no incentive for anyone who is actually good at NM to play CM.

I tried it, and its so broken its not even fun. you can die 900 times, and as long as you get your sotm on dev and a shamans headdress you can run around killing people all game and hardly get touched.

I am "actually good" at normal mode and i play both almost at the same rate.
I never leave on matches. I never concede on NO STATS matches. I just concede when we are being TOTTALY raped(0/8 ; 5/15) in a STATS game AND i am a little bored with that match.

It's still an imbalanced game mode designed for people who don't want to deal with ragers in normal mode, or newbs who don't understand the game because they are new, or noobs who don't understand the game because they are bad.

this mode is broken, and will never be fixed. no stats should be recorded on it ever.

if you don't like it, you don't actually like hon.

you like a pseudo-"custom" map that doesn't work right.
