It's time to open this tourney season! Sign-ups for the first qualifier of GameReplays.org Heroes of Newerth Tournament Season 3 (http://www.gamereplays.org/heroesofnewerth/portals.php?show=index&name=heroes-of-newerth-tournament-season-3) sponsored by S2 Games are now open, and will be open till Friday, December 3 at 12:00GMT. The first qualifier will kick off this Saturday, December 4 at 19:00GMT.

This tourney will be played on Saturday, not Sunday like it was planned, because the UNGL finals will be on Sunday, we hope that won't be a big issue to the teams.

Good to see the GR series back, the weekly tournaments were awesome for the scene.

I forgot to change the day in here, but the date is 4th. It will usually be on Sundays, but because of the UNGL finals we moved it one day earlier.

So is it every time gonna be "who signs up faster gets a slot" ? Or are you considering to make it a 32 teams tournament if you refused alot of signups ? (i dunno that)
Cause i signed up like 2-3 hours after the announcement and it was already full, lame. :(((

I understand that you give priority to top tier team to ensure quality matchs all troughout the tournament and that adding one more round is mostly gonna add about 10 useless stomps.
But i still think it is pretty unfair for mid tier team who wants to give it a shot and might sometimes provide good games against top team, considering that the tournament is sponsored by S2.
Also who doesn't enjoy getting stomped by chu mid? :D

Actually, adding another round might not be adding 16 stomps matchs. Cause i see that there are alot of good EU teams that are not in (i don't know if they signed up/wanted to or not) who can provide very good and close games and even upsets.
OK, YOU (old DrDz), Infs, UV, b3v, PYRO, Walh, TSOG, Rea, cats...
And that's only europe, dunno about USA, i see that SK and DRD are not in.

basically 8 slots are reserved for last season finalists, the rest is based on 1st come 1st serve.

These tournaments are organized for the best of the best, so that we get top games even in the first rounds and the tourneys finish fast. The reason why we do not want to increase number of slots to 32, is because it will delay the tourney for at least 1 hour or 1.5 hours, since the first round takes longest to finish.
