The times clearly say that they are when the tournaments start, not when any streams start. I don't expect anyone to stream some local swedish teams playing in the group stage of DreamHack. Results and schedules of those are available here: http://dh.playdh.com/event/dreamhack-winter-2010/steelseries-hon-masters/90/#/roundrobins btw. The real deal, the playoffs start tomorrow if I'm not mistaken. Not to be negative or anything, but there really isn't a game worth casting till like quarter-finals.

The top two teams from each group will move on to play in the Semi-Finals the following day in a best of three format where they will compete for the $20,000 Prize Pool."

This DYA thing is just the biggest fail ever.
Who the **** organizes a tournament with a prizepool of $20,000 and has such bad coverage? Why even host the tournament if you aren't going to promote the **** out of it?
Why put the 4 foreign teams in one group and have them play each-other BO1 style? They are competing for $20,000?! Why not at least try to ensure that the best team wins by doing BO3s? Its only 8 teams ffs!
Inviting the PMS girls and not having any coverage pretty much proves how dumb the organizers are :arma:
I hope that the DotA pros takes #1 and uses their airtime to trashtalk HoN.

Not really sure what you're interested in but you can find Groupstage/Results/Schedule newspost is HERE (http://www.sk-gaming.com/content/31416-DYA_Groupstage_done_all_Europeans_are_out) and HERE (http://www.sk-gaming.com/tournament/1097). Yes, this camera work has a lot of room for improvement! The fact that they take the view out of the game to show one of the players in the middle of a team fight is just incredible! Team fight starts - one guy dies - they take the camera and zooms in one random MSI/drdz guy - team fight continues and people die with the spectators unable to see....

Since when can't you play BO3 in a round robin style tournament, mr. ****wit?
What they should have done, was to run a DBL elim BO3 tournament, instead of stacking one group with all the good/organized teams. DBL elim BO3 would have been so much better and the number of games would end up being about the same.
I also fail to see why it is obvious that the 4 best teams advanced. I find it funny that you believe that ICE with 2 ringers (with one guy being _completely_ random straight off the streets of Shanghai) are better than OK and TsoG (considering their LAN experience), but I guess that you are not the last clown that these forums will see.

There is definitely room for improvements.
This is actually my first time watching a HON tournament live on stream, so I have no idea what a usual tournament environment is like, and my opinions might sound bit harsh.
Bad environment setup, players can actually hear live commentator. Even though not much info is leaked apart from pinging sound and kongor, the fact that you can hear people talking might actually put players off. They should have some sort of enclosed booth setup for soundproofing and temperature controls.
Boring commentating, being captain obvious, however this is also caused by the fact that they can't say mention anything tactical.
Awful camera work, like someone has mentioned. We don't want to see player's face in a middle of a team battle.
Being a long time e-sport follower of other games, this is just my personal opinion. I think there are too much unnecessary chatters in the game. You could say this is part of the DOTA culture, but I think this just adds unprofessionalism into the game, especially when you're bring this onto the big screen.
There needs to be some more stricter rules on using pause. Pausing randomly at 13:37 just for lawlz in a tournament.... wtf? And again too much chat goes on when there is a pause.

I agree that this was bad but it was especially bad for this kind of thing. It usually isnt this bad. The commentators was just meh among the worst i have seen the only "word" they could was ooooohhhhh.
I dont know why but the DH summers production was much better i believe they got one rly bad crew there. In swedish television with the swedish commentators the comments where just a tad better but they didnt haave hd quality just sd quality so it was not watchable. This time the swedish television crew that handled it all where given hell of alot less production money for this.
Too bad Druidz couldn't field their whole team, disappointing to see the finals of such a major tournament basically come down to a pubstomp.

I was watching the Honreplays stream at the beginning of game 2 (watched the Honcast stream for game 1), and the chat amongst the players and all the streamers was one of the more unprofessional things I've seen broadcast. I know that referees appointed by these tournaments have ruined games in the past, but shouldn't there be a ref or a small committee of refs that decide how many streamers each shoutcasting company is allowed BEFORE the game, or even better way before the tournament? I would say that per company a max of 4 streamers would work, but I'd be fine if they limited it to 3.
Just watching the posturing and insults between Honreplays and Honcast really detracted from the professional environment that every eSport community should be striving for.

Apparently there is this myth that spectators cause lag in the game.... Which may be true in these LAN tournaments... but, as GR pointed out, they had 6 people in most of the DH games, and it wasn't an issue until Phil pointed it out, GR needed 5 because of, 1 Streamer(se), Asway, FCJ, Bdiz, and Kustodian to record a VoD, so that we can bring a high quality video later on.

Why do you even host a lan tournament with 10k (?!) prizepool if its only MSI + random trash? Such a waste.

Yeah, but GR wasn't alone in this one. You were 6 or 7 while Honcast were 3 and the Sweden 2 or something like that. First, I don't think so many people are needed, with all due respect. Then, since there has been a lot of remakes, there was obviously a problem, even if it wasn't that, that was what the players wanted too, so I don't think all the trashtalk on IRC was needed.
Anyway, the GR cast was better than the HCT cast. ;p

I am not entirely sure if the DYA semifinals should be up in 5 minutes or in 24 hours. Again, not much info coming out of Singapore, unfortunately.
So Honcast livestream (http://www.fileplay.net/channels/honcast/live) of DYA semifinals EG vs iMp & xTu vs ICE either up in 5 minutes or 24 hours.

Ye, that's what I thought, but the honcast twitter says "Will be back tomorrow (Saturday) for the Semi-Finals at 4pm PST / 1am CET" so was confused if he thought Saturday PST time (which is Sunday CET time) or Saturday CET time (which is Friday PST time). :)
Checked it on the GameFest website, says Saturday, 27th, 8AM Semi-finals - so yeah, should be up soon. Sorry for the confusion.

According to a guy that looks to follow the thing on the justin.tv chat, breaky would have said 12 hours ago that the next cast would be ... now. But could be delayed because it's early there and they have to set up everything.
The "would" post.

Well thanks for the kind words about our cast. Always good to hear we did a good job. I only looked into the games chat and not the IRC, I didn't realize there was more to go on then did. My bad for talking without looking at all th evidence.
I understand we required a few more spots, We'll have to talk to our staff and see what went down and how we can cut down on our spec slots.

Well, when only GR is casting, I think that's ok. And even if there is only HCT, it must be ok too since they're not using as many slots as you. But there was the sweden tv there too.

Damnit, who sets up a LAN tournament with the casters so close to the players that the casters can't even talk about where the players are on the map? So frustrating.

Ye, xTu is interesting.
Not sure that where they sit or how close to the players they are plays a role, since they're on speakers there so the spectators at the actual LAN hear their cast - if I'm not mistaken.
btw. anyone wanna play a game of drink a shot every time breaky says "on the same token"? :)

That SW on xTu kinda lost them the game.
I'd dare to elaborate that with proper itemchoices (aka some more surviva, behe heart & with their lineup a FWS as orb) & not being absent in a couple of teamfights, they wouldve won that game.

They are, as they use the same patching system as international HoN. I remember downloading a replay from the garena HoN forums and it worked fine. Hopefully, someone will post the replays on the garena forums.

The issue wasnt due to lag. It's that there is a bug that occurs on servers once the spectator slots fill to capacity. So you wouldn't have had a problem with 18/22, but when the 3 people from Honcast showed up, it messed the server up. Now you know.

Gr and Honcast were allowed to cast cause we both teams agreed to it and wanted them to do so to give something back to the community. And this was after i spoke to Smak_ and Asway. It was only supposed to be SVT casting it since Honcast announced a while back that they were not going to DH to cover this event since DYA was going at the same dates and they decided to cover that insted. None the less we had a chatt in the teams and made it possible for them to be able to cast the games that we played. Now to cover the whole situation about the specs and what not, the reason we whined about the ammount of people that joined was due to the fact that if you have a game up for too long and people keep joining and leaving cause they forgot to fix something or what so ever, the game will get bugged and you wont be able to start it or do anything about it. And thats exactly what happend for 3-4 games, we were supposed to start those games at 21.00 GMT+1 sharp, we delayed it by a good 1 hour and the DH crew kept telling us to get the games going over and over, we didnt want to delay the games any longer and we both (druidz and fnatic) decided to ask GR to cut down the manpower cause we didnt want another server bug and delay the tournament any more then we already had. There was no hate from HCT to GR or even trying to get GR staff out. Cause they have some hate towards eachother or what so ever, it was us the players who decided to tell GR to cut the manpower and not HCT.

thanks for clearing it up.
I wasn't around for the finals, but I'm glad it worked out the way it did, so the viewers had multiple options of who to watch. Appreciate the teams cooperation in setting things up. I had alot of fun casting/streaming the earlier DH matches (4am and all ^_^).
Shoutout to #1 Asway and of course all those who participated in dreamhack, whether it was online or in person.

Was really great of you guys and the other teams who made it possible for people to actually stream/cast the matches even when they weren't in Sweden. It's amazing to me that at a huge LAN event over on the other side of the world people were still able to organize coverage from home to actually do live casting, etc.
