True. But BreakyCpk isn't good at either. From the casting PoV he never will have career in any commentary related job unless its video games. He doesn't have the HoN knowledge - how can you expect him to have sports knowledge that spans over years?

I don't see Breakycpky saying: "Oh yeah earlier in the year his :madm: play was incredible against a :arac::pest::scou: setup" at most he was remember "He has a good :madm:".

And if you believe that BreakyCpk has the voice for radio, commentary and shoutcasting you've never even heard a college radio caster... If you're in college listen to your radio casters. You might be surprised a lot more than you think.

Lol, breakycpk is easily on par voice-wise to my college radio caster. But I live in a very low population state, so I don't think this is exactly the epicenter of vocal talent. Breaky's been casting for what, a year now? Going from no DotA play to a superb player isn't exactly easy. I'd imagine if he's going to broadcasting school to become a sports caster he's been watching sports his whole life compared to 11 months. HoN has one of the highest learning curves and a lot of specific knowledge you have to pick up. To say "he can't become a sports caster he hasn't picked up the nuances of Heroes of Newerth in eleven months" is silly to say the least.

I love to see when people compared breaky to the likes of Day9, HD, etc. Oh, right the guys that have been playing Starcraft since '98? Yeah, he should be on par with them.

GR has casters with much better insight than Honcast, but uploading on youtube and having a bad stream (laggy) is just so annoying, and to be honest it's the only damn thing putting me off and watching mainly Honcast. ~_~

What do you suggest other then Youtube? You can buffer youtube. Is there another video host that works better?
I know it's easy to say we should support our own, but I think at the moment we don't really have that choice.

1st of all the background noise was from swindlemelonzz, it doesn't happen that often and now, I managed to find out there is a push to talk for skype thanks to Broodje which we will use.
Secondly regarding live stream we are going to be live-streaming a lot more since we have been working on our delay software its still pre-beta so we will improve in that aspect.

Dunno why people are bashing the commentators here, go cast your own replays if you aren't happy with these FREE VODs and streams different sources give you. Geeze... Damn spoonfed kiddies never happy with anything.

With that being said though, Breaky may not be the person with most knowledge about the game, but he is by far the most entertaining & energetic commentator around. As long as he has someone around for competetive insight he is awesome.
Think of Breaky as Mike Goldberg, and HendryD as Joe Rogan. Good synergy there! :D

I know we're completely off topic here, but as a producer at my area's highest rated radio station, his voice is on par with some of the pro DJ's here. I enjoy the professionalism of honcasts and despite his perhaps lack of insight, Breaky runs a tight ship during casts and is a huge reason for Honcast's success.

Commentary for computer games is not about how ****ing nice your voice sounds.

YouTube is fine.

Your forums, however, are not. A massive list of games, no ratings, I have to open a tab to see anything about the game, no game outline, etc.? Fix those things and keep the casting to non-idiots and you'll be appreciated.

EDIT: Having loud small children in the same room as a caster qualifies as "idiot."

Only 2 reasons I dont have GR over HonCast in my book are:

1) Cameramen typing stuff in team and all chat constantly.
2) Casters regularly saying that a game is boring. (during early game perhaps)

I think you misunderstand some of our casters, such as Smock always comment on how "early game items" are boring :D

Tried to watch the DM vs Empr. match yesterday. stopped after 10 minutes. 3 guys all talking over each other, no clear head caster, and quite honest bad voices for shoutcasting. Only thing i really enjoy right now on gamereplays are the ventcasts, they are refeshingly different. the casters may have a lot of knowledge but the presentation is just subpar. They dont even let the others finish before starting to talk, it was a huge mess. I watch the streams to be entertained and imo breaky does a better job at it.
But i appreciate the gamereplays stuff doing the work, please do take some critisism (and dont deleate it like yawningangel did the last time i posted some) and try to improve.
- Make shure who is the head caster
-the other casters should only be talking when addressed or if there is no one else speaking
- Please make shure the sound is in synch before uploading (in one of the games i watched the ingame audio was off by at least 1 second)
- I know you dont have any real alternative to youtube right now but please keep looking...
- Cameramen should only focus on the action and not type, it is not his job to point stuff out (have him in vent but not recorded so he can point stuff out on voice while not being recorded)
- A reason why i am not as entertained by gamereplays vods as i am by honcast is the amount of entusiasm the casters deliver. (seriously YawningAngel makes me yawn irl)
- make the commentaries more consistent, right now you cast random games from here and there, often uploaded a long time after they went up on honcast. why should i watch those games again?
And quite honestly, the sheer ammount of content Honcast offers is just superior at the moment.
Anyways, keep it up, especially the ventcasts, i really like them.

I like GRs vent casts like others have stated. However, I won't watch a match cast by GR if I can watch the same match on Honcast. I want to be entertained when I watch games, and not be educated by a stuttering, socially awkward and boring guy (not saying that's the case for GR). Unless you just desperately want to learn more about the game I can't see how you would not like Honcast's entertaining presentations.

Vent casts are always good, I always watch them when they get uploaded. Honestly Holy I think you should pump a lot more of those out - I thoroughly enjoy listening to what the team is actually thinking during matches, it's usually more insightful than any of us casters could possibly be.
