As for this mod, I finished adding effects to the skills. Let me know if everything is working good. note: I'm not gonna change the hero name.

I'm not sure how to change that actually :x. There doesn't seem to be anything in the entity file that defines it.

This may sound silly but is anyone having issues with the third skill? He seems to do the animation to start the charge but then resets and nothing, not even the ability happens.

Edit: Seems to be a conflict with Cast Range Indicators. Stalk on :)

That will only happen in practice mode whilst using Cast Range Indicators. In a real game, it will not occur.

Does it take you a long time to port DotA models over? Just wondering. I too would love Luna. Your work is always amazing, thank you for doing these.

Hard to say, since I ran into a lot of glitches with the model/animations that I couldn't figure out, and had to start over a couple times. But it should definitely be easier next time now that I've done one. I'm kind of swamped with schoolwork atm though and I spent way too much time working on NS yesterday, so I probably won't get to anything else this week.

Also I wanted to import Zeratul (from SC2) as Magebane but I get an error every time I try to export it into HoN's format :(

need customs SFX sound like attack etc.
atm it doesnt fit the NS model at all. especially blades and autoattack sounds

on the model itself- FCKING AMAZING LOVE IT <333333

Luna's model is giving me the same problem =/, crashes when I click export.

Drow also crashed it :X. Maybe I'll try again later with the blender scripts.

mb use huntress model instead ? luna have huntress model, or i can cut it from war3 if u need it ?

if anything you could use windrunner's model lol i think the smoke effect is easy to obtain. just a suggestion since they're the same models.

You could post a download link to the model or you could post the error that you are getting with blender.
Might be able to help.

I couldn't find any good scripts for importing straight from WC3 to blender (I found one called Warblender, but it gives me errors when I try to run it), so I imported it into 3DS Max and exported it as an .obj file.

So I managed to get around that error but then stumbled upon a another one.
Frustrating.

But Ill keep on trying to figure why blender keeps failing even after I put some bones to it.
Atleast it could shed some light to why the max exporter also fails.

Try this one: Huntress3.blend (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5534703/Huntress3.blend)

I finally got this script (http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Extensions:2.5/Py/Scripts/File_I-O/3DS_MAX_Scene_Interchange) to work. It's a 2.5.3 blend file though so it says it loses data when you try to open it in 2.49b, don't know if that includes bones. I still get the same error when I try to export it.

I already got it to work with the earlier files.(No solid idea yet what made it work.)
Now I just got to figure out a way to turn those objects to bones.
.obj files cant carry over bones well so they are turned into objects so...

Huntress3.blend also got the same thing happening. Bones turning to objects.

Ill see If I can get it to work fully by tomorrow.
Edit: Atm moment it doesnt seem to be worth it by adding bones manually.
Would probably finish by tommorrow morning lol.
Still looking for better way to do this.

The bones are actually kinda the same way in 3ds Max (they all have that pyramid mesh stuck on them), but they still work as bones and the pyramids disappear when you actually render it. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5534703/MaxScorpion.jpg

You should probably compare windrunner and drow since they are almost the same model to find whats causing it to fail export.Ok, so here's what I found. It crashed when it was "copying skin weights" for the mesh BansheeRanger5, which was just the flat red glow effect on her eyes. So I deleted that and now it exports fine. So apparently the problem had something to do with that mesh.

So now on the Huntress it crashes on copying the skin weights for Huntress2, which also has 4 flat meshes (the claws on her mount). It also includes her glaive, so I can't just delete it. I'll see what I can do to fix it.

EDIT: so it still doesn't work even if I delete the claws altogether. It only works If I remove the rigging for both the claws and the glaive.

As for 3ds Max, I can get the two newest versions straight from Autodesk's website for free just by using my school e-mail. So it's kind of silly that I have to pay to get an outdated version.

Only thing that comes to mind from that error is weight painting.(Blender calls it weight painting.)
Assigning how much the mesh transforms when the bone moves, which parts of the mesh the bone can transform etc
(Hope I explained that right...)

So what might be the case is that those parts are not assigned to any bone.
Which could cause the exporter to fail if its coded like that.
Just speculation.

You could also try to pm someone from S2 since its their exporter (S2los and S2Cracky come to mind)

OK i just installed it and it worked, BUT i couldnt throw a hatchet and it wont cast 2nd or 3rd ability it just goes through the animation
