So I made my first foray back into sig making in over a year and a half. Unfortunately my photoshop is bugged as hell so I had to use gimp which I don't know much with and made me want to punch things.

Aside from forgetting to add a border, no text yet, and the fact it's horrible and I'm horrible, comments and critique?

EDIT: Original Render (http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k174/stewiecraft/zephyr.png?t=1288327336)

Your post made me lol.

It's pretty good - portrays movement which makes sense for a bird with it's wings out. You might was to make the wings less transparent otherwise you lose depth. Try sharpening up the render (face mainly) to create more depth.

Lighting needs work - needs some contrast. Read tuts on lighting and you'll find out how to make a light source. Use the dodge/burn tools.

You might be able to blame GIMP on some of those things, but not all! I'd suggest getting a copy of CS5!

I have a copy of photoshop I just need to reinstall it, and the only thing I'm blaming Gimp for is purposely pissing me off with layers. I don't know why, but my Gimp literally can't lock layers.
