Lo3Cup.co.uk is back and bigger than ever !

http://www.lo3cup.co.uk/ (http://www.lo3cup.co.uk/)

Lo3Cup is re-launching with a whole host of improvements to this much loved system and tournament website.
We will be providing regular CSS,COD4,HON and Starcraft II cups to the gaming community.

http://i53.tinypic.com/t70axt.jpg

We will be running one/two night cups. Single elim brackets, With plenty of admin and replay casts for the finals from the HCTc Honcast community clan.

Signups start very soon, looking for our first cup to start on november the 17th

Game Settings
1. Game Mode: Banning Pick, 5v5, Forests of Caldavar, No stats until finals.
2. Game Options: All Heroes, Tournament Rules, (Dev heroes disabled, new (younger than 2 week) heroes are auto-banned (meaning, cannot be chosen) if an auto hero is accidentaly chosen a remake will happen, if this happens twice there will be a penalty
3. All games apart from finals will be a best of one games format, Finals will be best of three games (first to win two games)

Just posting here to gage interest, and work out how many teams I will allow in our first cup. Prizepools to be announced shortly.

Would you like to play in a UK/EU One/two night cup? These will run weekly, we have experience with the old Lo3Cup site running over 100 one night tourneys and having over 6000 Cs:s players signed up. This will be great practise for your team, a chance to play some decent games with mixed skill levels and no one causing trouble.

Feel free to get to me with any questions on this thread, and feel free to sign up for an email announcement at http://www.lo3cup.co.uk/

Sounds good, but you should perhaps think about the skill difference between teams. Won't be particularly fun if a 1900 team turns up and stomps the cup, containing mainly 1600-1800 teams.

But Good luck with it

We are going to be countering by running under 1700 cups, and over, as well as mixed big ones

Nice, so is this cup going to be for everyone, or for those under/over 1700 psr only?

Everyone of course. what's the point in not allowing someone to play?

You just completely contradicted yourself, why say you will set certain psr limits for your cups, and then say this cup will be for everyone? Doesn't make sense

You misread. The Under 1700 cups will be for under 1700. The "over 1700" cups are actually everyone allowed. Why would you restrict a 1500psr team from joining is what he's saying.

this is true, we will be running some SD cups also, ;D Will be an interesting experiment as the metagame will be flipped upside down, both teams will be forced to chose what's best for them as apposed to what will be best against the other team :D!

I never really understood tournaments with PSR maximums ( especially one with prizes), how do you prevent smurfs? Also, an SD cup is an awful idea.

I think that may be a good chance for younger teams to really get a feel for what competitive play looks like, actually. Stomped or not.

I don't know how the brackets are done, but right now they are just ... well, bad. :-/

I don't think a 15 min concede stomp final would be the best publicity/make your cup look good.
I mean, unless there is an upset, empire is probably going to be in the final for the 2nd bracket. And the only 3 teams that can put up a good fight or win against them are in the same brackets.

The points of doing seed is to ensure that your semi-finals/finals will be good games cause that's usually the matchs that spectators will look for.

But, i don't rly care if i lose early cause of weird brackets, cause there is no prize.
I'm just saying that for the viewers and you.

Turned out to be a pretty interesting final, or at least I hope so. But yes, I agree, take more care of how you seed the teams.

Ye, they changed it in time, so it's ok. :)
If i remember correctly, Empr, TCM, Rea, RAK, SdS were all in the same bracket. ^^

Out of curiosity, how did you come up with the name Liveon3?

live on 3 is from Counter-Strike

usually when a match is ready to begin, the round restarts 3 times which then means the match is "live" and started
