wow, he is explaining EVERYTHING. Thats good in small doses, but i couldn't bear to watch this very often.
wow, now he complains that sf doesnt participate in the fighting and farms too much. He only made 4 kills or smth while the caster had his camera on the other side of the map... reminds me of breakys camerawork somehow.
god... "sf just walked around the map and farmed"... thats the role and btw, he had the most herokills in the game. i am no fan of this guy. He explains a lot, but he tells a lot of bullshit...

Lumi is the best insightful Dota commentator there is.
The main difference I always find funny is
Breakycpk: "And xyz has his Geometer's Bane now so thats very good for him/hes done a good job farming" 10 seconds about each player
Luminous : 20 min talk about what the best item choises would be and why
Its also very enjoyable that most Dota commentators (even Toby) use actual spell names, while Breaky still after 1 year of casting HoN takes the easy route and calls it "Soulstealer Ultimate, Behemoth Ultimate, xyz Ultimate, xyz stun"

Breakycpk is a moron. Tobi's casts are the best, and the casters on DotAcommentaries aren't bad either.

My opinion may be biased as I never played DotA, but god are the graphics of DotA awful. Between the 15minutes of commentating and the horrible graphics(and lack of sound), I find Heroes of Newerth shout casting much more enjoyable, professional, modern, insightful, and much easier to understand from a spectators POV.

well, I don't enjoy dota casts either. But that's because it just looks boring imo
Pretty sure he's using some 3rd party program to change the way the map looks, back when I played there was a snow theme and tropical theme iirc. The one in the video does look like **** though.

And that's why I can't lwatch his videos. Sure, he may have tons of "insight" to offer, but I can't stand these kinds of vids.
The thing I like about Breaky's "cast everything I see on screen" is that I don't have to watch whats going on at all to follow the game.
Some things appeal to some people, other things to other people. No one can make everyone happy, all the time. The only thing we can all agree on, is that I am the most professional caster out there.

breaky does the play by play SO much better than this guy. he is not great at explaining things, but well, you can't have everything. But 95% of this cast is quite obvious. He talks around 10 minutes that bottle-crow is nice on ss errr nevermore. ORLY?
It is a bit disappointing that the honcast staff never seems to notice the bottlecrows (or doesn't mention it). MSI used them quite often i think.
All in all: Lumi casts for total newbies or ppl who are too dumb to think for themselfs. Breaky just entertains us. Having a bit of this guy as competitive insight could be nice though.

And he's very insightful. I like his style!
I think Honcast could learn from this and make those replay casts
more insightful trough pauses.
Lumi is an amazing caster as he gives insightful commentary on the thinking of the best teams in the world. It's way easier to learn strategies and such from dotacommentaries than from honcast IMO which is why I enjoy them more. Graphics and voices are cool and all, but if I'm watching commentaries, I'm generally trying to improve my game.

If you want to be told what items to pick up, who to play, and how to play them, I suggest you look elsewhere. I can't remember the last time you casted a team fight without lagging behind. Is your brain really that slow that you can't do it on time? I mean I can forgive Henry because he does it only during replay casts. Yet you manage to lag behind in live casts, it's quite astounding really.
Or does it have to do with the fact that you post such dumb **** on the forums with every post you make? "DRRR I R NOT RACIST I SLEEP WITH WOMANZ!" and therein quite possibly could have some sort of mental disability?
Or maybe it's just your arrogant attitude towards the world as if you're some big shot because you cast HoN? And since no one else cares enough to try (except GameReplays) you mistake people tuning in as them wanting to hear your shitty casting and not simply because there is no better option. It's like a car company being the only one in the world to make cars. Just because they have no competition doesn't mean they're good.
And ZOMG U MAKEZ MONEH OFF TEH HONCAST! Let's see how long you can remain in a deficit and get paid. Maybe then you'll have to look for a real job.
EDIT: I have no problem with what Honcast does and they do it decently enough. I'm a big fan of Breaky, Henry, Hippie and Sooner. But Phil "The_Thrill" (lololol he announces it as if it isn't juvenile) is so terrible and yet convinced he's amazing.

I never played DotA, hell I don't even know what half the scourge heroes did but it was pretty easy to follow and I learned a lot. Not to mention the guy actually knew what he was talking about.

A) He's an ESL english speaker so of course hes not going to have perfect english but he still manages to comment more in-depth than honcast does on various levels. Watch the other DC's if you want someone who isn't ESL.
B) "So for kunkka, once you're level 5 or higher, 2 razes will net you the entire creepwave if he places those razes correctly" Maybe you need a hearing aid.
C) Better to include commentary of all depth than have terrible rambling on about GPM and experience jumps after team battles every time ala honcast.
DotaCommentary > honcast and I don't even like watching Dota that much.
This is probably a better cast by Lumi here (http://www.dotacommentaries.com/index.php/commentaries/5107#more-5107).
Lumi's map awareness is on another level compared to honcasters.
