What determines how fast you can connect to the game and also when everyone loads and it ranks people from 1-10 by how fast they load.

Is it the CPU, GPU, RAM, internet connection, SSD or not?

Also when I play 14v14, I lag heaps. What affects this?

Also what does the CPU, GPU, SSD, RAM, Internet connection determine when I play HoN.

Thanks in advance.

loading should be effected by the cpu + ram. my guess. cpu the most.

when would you type this command

Ctrl+F8 brings up the command console, and then you type it there. I believe you need to do this once each time you start the HoN game, but I could be wrong.

* Q9550
* 4G 1066 corsair
* 9400GT (i know that it's a ****, didn't build this pc to play games ^^')

I srsly wonder this to.

I have i7 920
3GB of ram
4870 radeon

yet I always load mid to last.

I admit I run it widowed and with other apps in the background, and normally only play 1 game at a time.

HDD read speed would effect the initial load time of the map. After that it's kept in RAM, so then RAM+CPU (but it could possibly access the HDD I dunno). Graphics card will only effect in-game.

EDIT: Adding to HDD read speed would be access times, therefore defragging would help.

What's the most important component to have if you are playing HoN?

Good GPU?
Good CPU?
Good RAM?
Good SSD?
Good internet connection?

seriously load speed will be determined by YOUR HARD DISK DRIVE. It is the slowest component and getting all that data off it will take ages.

Think about the lobby and how long that takes to load, there isn;t as much logic in that as the game yet it takes a while? Because of all the pretty pictures and sounds.

Defragging prior to game instalation would help. Doing so afterwards would not benefit as much. Besides all the game data will probably be in one file and placed in an order that is optomised for loading.

So would an SSD be the greatest help to play HoN super fast.

What will be next?

Is that so? Because installing the game into a RAMDrive will not make it load faster (tested by myself).

Loading speed is mostly affected by how fast your storage (HDD or SSD) can read data, which is pretty much always the case when loading assets.

Have a look here to see how much of a bottleneck physical storage is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96dWOEa4Djs

14v14 would severely strain older systems, shouldnt do it. To many spell animations/info being sent etc
