basically dd is better for ss mid because if an illusion gets the last hit you dont get a soul

Also the gold and denies you should get are much more worth it than the souls.

you can get just as many gold/denies with dd + souls are what gives ss the momenteum he needs middle
souls will give an exponetial benefit where as when the illusions end your oppenent has an advantage over you
