View Full Version : What about multiple flayers?
I am curious what would happen if i let's say, got 4 Flayer on Swiftblade? I know that crits only may trigger once but if crit item A with a 15% chance don't crit, crit item B still have the same chance to crit etc.
What i am curious about is if there's any limit to how many items of one kind you can stack? can i have 4 Flayers, which would make it almost impossible to not crit 24 / 7 on swiftblade?

I might be wrong, but I think it's something like this:
1-((1-.36)(1-.15)(1-.15)(1-.15)(1-.15)) = 66.5% chance to crit
Oh sorry i used wrong percentage! Flayer is 20% and yeah i know it would stack something like that. But what i wanted to know was if it really worked having that many of the same item or is there a limit? Cause i actually read something on dota-allstars a long time ago that said you could only have 2 of a percentage item and not more. That might be a uncorrect forum post though as i dont really remember. Just want to know how it works in HoN

For critical strikes, there is no limit on the number of item you can obtain; the same goes for damage block. But as for Bash, Evasion, Chain Lightning, and Cripple, you can only have one item or ability which gives those effects. Remember that only a single critical strike or damage block can proc per attack.
Each flayer gets its own dice roll w/ only one being able to crit per attack. There is still a chance that each roll could fail, so you will never get 100%. The math behind it is pretty simple. The probability of a flayer NOT criting is 80%. The chance of N flayers each not criting on the same attack is simply 0.8^n. The chance of critting is (1 - the chance of NOT critting): so (1 - 0.8^n) is the easiest way to do the math.

New everything about what modifiers don't stack etc, just wanted to know about limit of crit items and such. ( those who don't have a special modifier indicated )

Allready know that. Known from dota for years, only asked if there was a limit for how many.
Dont Stack Directly As Said in the above Posts.

To sum up: no limit. Get 5 flayers and lifesteal and you'll be a monster.

Wasn't there a bug in DotA, in that if you had 2 types of crit, and both procced on the same attack, neither actually worked? I remember a long time ago in DotA that if you did go double crit (either item, or through passive + item) then you would occasionally see 2 crit numbers (the red numbers) pop up on a single attack, but we were told that neither of the crits actually counted, and it just took the base dmg for the attack.
Was that true, and I'm assuming it isn't true in HoN?
