Ok, so I'm planning on buying a new computer, an Alienware probably, and I want to know what I can expect from this computer.

Processor

Intel? CoreTM i5 760 (2.8GHz/8MB cache)

Operating System

Genuine (http://www.dell.com/mc.ashx?id=Tech-Spec-Formatting:MDA-ToolTip&c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&modalwidth=400&modalHeight=150&ovropac=0&modalscroll=yes&modaltarget=div&modaltype=tooltip&position=bottom&title=Genuine &flip=true&eventType=rollover)Windows? 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Memory

Up to 6GB4 (http://www.dell.com/mc.ashx?id=technotes:graphics-and-system-memory&c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&modalwidth=400&modalHeight=150&ovropac=0&modalscroll=yes&modaltarget=div&modaltype=tooltip&position=bottom&title=Important Details&flip=false&eventType=rollover) Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333Mhz - 4 DIMMS

Hard Drive

1000GB5 (http://www.dell.com/mc.ashx?id=technotes:hard-drive&c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&modalwidth=400&modalHeight=150&ovropac=0&modalscroll=yes&modaltarget=div&modaltype=tooltip&position=bottom&title=Important Details&flip=false&eventType=rollover) SATA II hard drive (7200RPM)

Video Card

ATI HD5670 RadeonTM

Optical Drive

24X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) w/double layer write capability

On a game like Crysis, what can I expect from this computer? Very-High graphics at +/- 55 fps?

It'll run hon and crysis fine

I'd suggest swapping the 1tb hard disk for a solid state if you can afford it - they are amazing for games and general os usage

1200 for those specs is terrible. Build it yourself. And the most RAM you need is 4 GB.

Ya just build it man, or find a friend who can.
Alienwares are pretty unreliable anyways, at least nowadays.

I wouldn't advise gaming on a laptop, you get a lot more with a desktop. Alienware is overpriced, in any case.

^^ yeah i game on a laptop and its not that great. mine was a cheap dell that i needed for a school a couple years back. it runs everything ok, but graphics are integrated and to use my pf keys i have to hold the FN key. f-ing lame.

your specs look fine OP, id just be weary ont he price. you can usually even get manufacturer deals that should knock that hardware below $1k.

Same to me running HoN Maxed Out runs like a charm.

Well yeah, thanks for the answers, I guess my best bet is to build it myself, since I know how to do it. I'll inform myself on what individuals parts to buy.

And I'll never play on a laptop o_O
Want to have a :Sustainer: in my new box...

I he needs to ask he probably can't build it himself :P

He could ask someone to do it for him though.

edit: Oh he can, awesome.

This may be a bit late... but!

Any graphics card that is using memory type: GDDR3 is old. Try something new like GDDR5. But you'll notice every 6-9 month's something better will always come out XD

for more info on memory types check below:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GDDR3
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GDDR5

Mmm even samsung have some nice stats/figures on memory types
http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/Greenmemory/Products/GDDR5/GDDR5_Overview.html

Cheers,
