There is no best mid. It depends on many things and setups BUT....

Best all around solo mid : Soulstealer / Forsaken archer.

Best all around solo vs 2 : Flint.

Best all around solo vs 2 in long lane : Valky.

There's no "best" mid so to speak. :devo: rocks mid but he can be taken care of with :succ:. :pebb: Would also give devo a hard time cause he could out last hit him, and can just stun and run from devo's hook.

:souls: is a really strong mid, but absolutely fails against :devo:. So, there are a few that are the best, but not one that is "the" best.

and best solo would be, :plag: because he doesn't need to last hit, he only needs xp, plus he can deny full hp creeps to keep the wave near his tower.

next best would probably be flint because he can stand far away from danger while still last hitting.

Will have to agree on Succubus being the best mid, afterall, she has 2 disables, an emergency heal/nuke and a damage lowering ability, devo hooking her could be dangerous if you don't mezmerize quickly enough, but none of the other heroes around can counter her if she has rune control and is played by a skilled player.

TB/FA/SS = nice mids, but squishy as hell, and facing Suck-a-bus they will fail, unless the player using succubus is a complete retard. The one that probably would stand out best against succubus is an aggressive slither spamming his wards and spray, that would keep her away and limit her chances of disabling him, and he would be able to farm quite well against her.

Best solo = Valk, but also Succubus excels her played by a skilled player, because of her mezmerize and her heartache, you will need a double stun lane to be able to take her out, 1 stunner is not enough since she can disable and heal and get away.

Valk is the best solo 1v2, she has a long range disable which if hits virtually makes the lane 1v1 for about 5s allowing her to kill, it also makes her a less gankable hero because she can use it to scope out the forest. Her escape mechanism is fantastic because she can easily escape any slow or avoid chain stuns when timed correctly. Her attack animation may not be the best, but shes also got a decent range all target harass, and decent damage to boot. Also, when you play her enough, you get used to timing her last hit.

Its funny you say that because the answer to all of those questions is :doct: ; I'm pretty shocked no one mentioned him as best mid. He can gank the side lanes, usually kill the opposing mid, get away from ganks and to top it off he is a hard carry with great farm potential.

get to level 6, port in, kill. Its almost a free kill, experienced it on both sides :(


solo mid is in huge parts about counters. every melee (maybe except :bloo:) gets owned by dev. and dev is overall one of the stronger mids. Everyone with good escape meachnisms (valk, hag for example) can have a fun time though.

With bc, the scariest mid should be :thun:. with bloodchalice + bottle he can harass extremely hard. And if you let your hp drop, he simply bursts you down.

lvl6 in mid is about 6 minutes, i'd say laning phase is about 10minutes (depends on the game of course). plenty of time.

as said, pr has the ability to move the lane somewhat into his tower. so thats the way to stay in xp-range. i know of no other except being able to take on both of the enemie heroes.

No char can really stop the farm of a carry in a 1v2 lane. you said hag, but why? As soon as she is not in her tower, she gets harassed out of xp-range.

Repulsor can definitely stomp soulstealer mid.

He has one of the highest starting damage ranges out of all the ranged heroes (second only to voodoo jester I believe) so he can win CS until soulstealer builds some souls up. He can push the lane earlier than soulstealer with mines and has superior harass with rank 1 of his passive. At level 6 you basically have a free kill, assuming you're both 6 and he doesn't somehow have steamboots already.

I think soulstealer can win, but it's an uphill battle.

As far as DR being a hardcarry, I wouldn't say he's a hard carry but he's incredibly good lategame and he can certainly 1v1 pretty much every agility carry.

As far as laning vs devo....maliken, gladiator, legionnaire, and pebbles can all beat him mid thoroughly. Devo really isn't a good mid vs a lot of heroes. Nymphora, hellbringer, hag, valk, bubbles, etc should have no trouble beating him. He's just good against the soulstealer/FA variety of mid solo with low health, armor, and little escape.

Comparing devo to balphagore is silly. Balphagore in a 1v1 lane can pretty much beat anyone (except pebbles I suppose) because he's all but immune to harass if he levels his third skill. Honestly, balph can beat almost anyone who relies on harass with a nuke and autoattacks in a 1v1 lane and there's not much they can do about it. Bubbles isn't even a bad choice to lane 1v1 vs balph, you will be unable to deny his farm but he shouldn't be able to kill you unless you throw away shell surf (which is exactly what trixi did in game 3).

Devo, in comparison, is very weak against harass. If you get him low, he can't expect to hook+rot you because early game rot will do equal damage to him.

Oh as for Soloing vs 2 heroes, Both Valkyrie and Hag are effective.

TB is however, very effective, because both his chain lightning and lightning rod hit both enemy heroes, and there's another hero I can't quite think of >_<

Essentially, any 600 range hero can solo vs 2 easily if the player is competent.

Completely untrue. Like I said, valk, hellbringer, hag, and bubbles can beat devo mid easily.

Bubbles, hag, and valk can escape from hooks and harass with nukes.

Hellbringer is a 100% counter because of lifevoid, it's a free win mid vs devo.

1v1 I would think Flint or Arachna. Both have godly last hit animations (Flints is faster but with precision Arachna hits harder).

1v2 I would say Hag is the best then Valk. The short cooldown on blink is amazing.

Mid-wise, I can agree that Succubus is one of the best. She is an excellent ganker, and once she hits 6 she can virtually solo any other mid lane character with a Ult+Heartache+Mesmerize/auto attack combo.

As far as a 1v2 lane, I would have to vote either Hag (simply for the fact that she is reliant on levels and can benefit from ganking early on due to that gain), Witch Slayer due to his ability to stay in the lane and to still do his job without much farm, or (as mentioned), Valkyrie due to her great escape mechanism and ability to do some damage if the opposing 2 heroes attempt to bring the fight into her tower.

Other than that I would say that basically any hero that can benefit greatly from having the early extra levels. Not to mention that you should also have a hero in mid who is similar in that respect, (or a hero who just benefits greatly from the 1v1 farm) which gives you two heroes that can bring a huge advantage to the game.
