View Full Version : tSm manager DQ's us after winning GR because we beat tSm

LOL
eXu advances in brackets.
http://www.gamereplays.org/heroesofnewerth/portals.php?show=news&news_id=645005
Here is the replay of us slamming them eXu.
http://replays.heroesofnewerth.com/match_replay.php?mid=9130930
We beat tSm the round earlier. We didn't remake the game (it was already overdue) because their player logged on after game started. We slammed them pretty hard and Bart13T, tSm's manager and GR admin, basically threw a giant hissy fit in DRD channel, so WaC channel banned him. He obs the next game versus eXu and we won that, too. LOAD FF'd and we won the tournament.
They wait 1 week to update brackets and give eXu the win.
Talk about a conflict in interest. Why is the tSm manager also a GR admin? How can you get DQ'd for not remaking a game? tSm didn't get the remake then we 'mysteriously' lose the game to eXu on the brackets.
Anyone else think this is cowardly and shady?
We want answers from these administrators.
Thanks
-The King.

Im friends with some GR staff but they as a whole organisation are a massive joke. When 17 year olds run tournaments this kind of stuff is going to happen.
In the same respect is is their tournament and they can do whatever they want so you should probably just suck it up and get them boycotted.

Funny that you would call other people cowardly when you refuse a remake so you can play against some 1700 guy that we never play with, instead of someone thats actually on our team.
And for the record, we asked for the remake about 2 minutes into bans, not after the game started.

Owww snap, it's on!
In all seriousness though.
If the remake was the problem the proper solution wouldve been simply forcing a remake from an admin, not letting them play on & secretly giving another team they won from later in the tournament number 1 spot.
If the situation is like you say (linking replays always helps incase you didn't know), then DRD certainly wasn't in their right either, but the way it was solved was even worse.
KingRaven
08-06-2010, 06:44 AM
Okay, so because you can't field 5 in the proper amount of time, we have to remake a match that was supposed to start 1 hour earlier? (not saying this is your fault). No where in the rules does it say you get a rematch because your player can't log on in time. Tough ****. It happens. We play with ringers almost all the time. Get a bigger starting lineup, then.
The eXu game was a win, fair and square. It was decided that we got to advance because you can't punish a team for not wanting to remake.
Going behind everyone's back and doing this after the decision was made at the time is pathetic, and gamereplays getting slammed in public is the best that can happen. People here admit it's all 17 year old children that run the show over there. I wouldn't doubt it.
Don't get mad at us for not remaking. Get mad at your own teammate for not knowing how a clock works.

People need to find something better to do than look for drama. If you have a complaint take it up in private first and then make a choice whether or not to go public with it if they want to stonewall you. You ask for professional behavior, but then seemingly don't exhibit it yourself. I could care less. People around here time and again prove themselves to have the manners of an infant shitting its pants.

Oh the irony.
Anyway, did i understood everything fine?
1. DRD have to play tsm.
2. tsm are late.
3. one hour passes and game starts.
4. once started tsm asks for remake(banning phase or not, doesn`t matter)
So DRD got the hammer because they didn`t want to wait anymore? Frankly doesn`t make much sense, as far as i understand they weren`t forced to wait one hour and could have taken victory due to tsm being unable to play, no?
But the best thing is that they were dq`ed after winning the tournament, not during it :D

Okay, so because you can't field 5 in the proper amount of time, we have to remake a match that was supposed to start 1 hour earlier? (not saying this is your fault).
The match was not supposed to start 1 hour earlier. We played our game at the designated start time of the tournament... if anything it should have been played 1 hour later because it was technically a second round match since both our teams had first-round byes due to there only being 5 teams.
Don't get mad at us for not remaking. Get mad at your own teammate for not knowing how a clock works.
We asked for a rm and you didnt give it to us. We then played out the match and didn't bring up the issue again. Nor did I come to the forums and post an angry rant about it. But I'm actually really mad, you got me.
I honestly had no idea that bart had you guys disqualified, but if he did it was on behalf of GR and not tsm. You are trying to make us look bad to the community so I feel like I should at least get all the facts out in the open.

First and fore most I had nothing to do with DQ'ing anyone and if you know I wasn't even in the eXu vs DRD match as I had left as the game was being made. I also had nothing to do with how the brackets are. I also made a direct quote to one of the players of DRD which read "I can,t DQ a team and even if I could I am not going to DQ a team and hurt my tournament because I am mad because I don't know how to play." Honestly, Should you have remade yes. Is there anything we can do about it, no. As Rice_Rocket said "Technically it was a second round game so the game should have been started an hour after tournament start time" I had nothing to do with how anything turned out on brackets or anything. For you to call me shady and cowardly is funny when you are here on the forums and you don't even know what went on and on top of that wouldn't remake so you could play tSm's starting 5, maybe you were looking for the easy way out? idk point is please don't call people out like this and make yourself look dumb when you don't have a clue what went wrong. Seriously man, I don't go around randomly DQ'ing teams from tournaments if I did that I don't think MYM would allow me to be one of their tournament admins do you? If there is anything else ANYONE would like to know you can reply here as I will check it or you can do the proper thing and send me a PM.

drd did nothing wrong there. tsm asked our permission to remake and bring in a better player who came late. we said no, since our best player regularly sleeps through matches anyways. that's our prerogative. if it isn't, then why did they ask our permission?
if it wasn't our choice to say no to a remake, then an admin should have insisted it happen, rather than fabricating unrelated results in different matches later on. shady
and for the record it was this barl3t guy hanging around in our channel after the tsm match crying about how he was going to disqualify us so don't believe his bullshit little story. i guarantee he was behind it

It would be smarter to make this thread after trying to sort it out privately. As of now it just makes you look stupid since the person you're calling out isn't even capable of disqualifying you in the first place. This obviously means there was a miscommunication elsewhere or an actual admin did the dirty work. As it is, your anger and ad hominem attacks do not at all serve your goal. However, I imagine your real goal is just to raise mass drama so I guess you've managed that well enough.

Yes, they can't "right" the tournament recap. You're attacking the wrong thing, broseph. You should be attacking their lack of organization that caused the miscommunication that led to the incorrect writeup. There's nothing wrong with the writing itself, it's the information that is the problem.

All that happened was the admins didn't bother remembering who won, and just thought we did. Therefore they switched us with you, and in turn you thought that you got DQ'd.
Normally the actions would be questioned before making wild accusations, but i guess high school doesn't teach that yet!
Either way DRD won fair and square against us so grats on win and hopefully GR can pay closer attention next time to avoid a blowout like this

Hi. As the name next to the post states, I am Croutonman, the writer of the results post and an Administrator (Red Alert 3 section) for GameReplays.org covering for kustodian while he is on vacation.
What ichigo said is true, there was a mix up in the match reporting and this will be fixed. It's 2:15 pm my time right now and I am still at my RL job for the day. This should be fixed within the next 4-5 hours when I get home form work. Rest assured there is no secret conspiracy to give one team more points than another team, just a human error in match reporting. This is a simple mistake and will be fixed in a matter of hours!
As for the talks of money, this is only one of the 5 qualifying tournaments for the invitational (http://www.gamereplays.org/heroesofnewerth/portals.php?show=news&news_id=626109) and no cash prizes are involved in these invitational tournaments. The only cash prizes involved are in the final invite tourney only.
Sorry for the inconvenience :(

This particular tournament had some of its issues because I was supposed to run it but my computer had virus problems on the day (Saturday) that I was supposed to put the brackets up.
I couldn't visit webpages or use programs that weren't already open, so I had to ask the person I just happened to be on Skype with at the time to make a post for me. It was late at night though and it didn't get read until mere hours before the tournament.

I couldn't visit webpages or use programs that weren't already open, so I had to ask the person I just happened to be on Skype with at the time to make a post for me. It was late at night though and it didn't get read until mere hours before the tournament.
I don't know exactly what all of the other drama is about, but the results would've been resolved instantly if you just sent someone a PM.
I heared it's really hard to click "show winner" to know who won the game.

Hi guys,
I obs'd this match with a ref, and when asked who won, I was half distracted with setting up encodes for various casts of the day. For some reason, I was dealing with the eXu and DRD cast, and for some reason, I had recorded that eXu won.
I soon found that my cast had become corrupted, so I reported it as an eXu win to Croutonman without confirming in the replay.
I apologize for any ill intentions perceived by DRD, especially after not confirming the win by DRD thru the replay. I realize this has caused drama, and probably shaded GR's name to some, but know that it was my communication error, and I did not mean to slight anyone whatsoever.
It was my fault for not confirming the replay, and communicating the wrong win. You can freely direct all hate to me. I don't mind; I screwed up, I'll take the heat.
Bart was not involved in any way shape or form.
I just read this entire thread; feel free to flame me, but it was my mistake, and not anyone elses.

TBH, you guys didn't even post the brackets until less than hour before the first match. I also think GR is a complete joke right now.

[GR]FourCrtJestr (http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/member.php?u=2996215) you obsed the match? for whats xxxx reason can you be distracted to who won your own popular tournament? your job was to obs it? this is just a sick joke? or are you just trying to take the flame of events?
If this is the truth you might be the most distractable man ever lived...

It's ok I know you guys were scared of me. =D
Even though it kinda sucks that you didn't remake for me, I can only agree that GR's positioning of eXu advancing over you after a clear win by DRD is wrong on many levels.
Hope you guys get this dilemma resolved in your favor.
Best of luck DRD,

You know, there are only a few things that stand out here.
- GR made a mistake. They happen. As I read it here, they were not aware of the error until this shitstorm here erupted, and have since recitified the mistake.
- DRD apparently prefers flaming those they dislike, trying to ruin reputations. Because they can't be arsed to get an answer from the organisers first. To me, this reads like behaviour I would not want in a professional team. It is childish and shows very little sportsmanship.
Your rage is understandable, I would not want to be cheated out of a win, especially not if it was because of the reason you believed it was. That said, I must wonder what makes you run to the HoN community forums and post a flaming rant about GS.
I must admit I don't agree with DRD's decision to not allow the rmk after the reason became clear. However, I recognise that it was your decision to make, and I can somewhat understand your reasoning. To me, it shows that you prefer victory over sportsmanship.
You say that you'd already been waiting an hour. so what's five more minutes? Regardless, I don't really want an answer and spark up more debate. It's just a question I asked myself.
Finally, congratulations to DRD for the win, and I do hope GR takes a lesson from this and is a bit more careful in the future. It's the only thing you can wish for. Props for the calm response despite everyone flaming you for perceived injustice.
I honestly don't get what prompts people to post their indifferences publicly without attempting to resolve it privately first. It's a show of poor character, imho. But, I of course also don't know exactly what happened from everyone's point of view, so I'll assume that for you, this was the best course of action given the circumstances... I just hope tournaments can be finished.
Good luck to DRD in the followup tournament. I hope you do well and can get by without more drama ;)

My god... This man... on the internet.. was calm and collective and posted a completely neutral stance without flaming anyone.
We need all the flamers trolls and QQer's in here to argue with him, and we will need asway posting pictures with clever sayings on them, in order to combat this injustice.
But in all seriousness, thank you for support, I'm sure this type of error won't happen again, and that this was all a misunderstanding.

We appreciate the correction in the final result. Initially this did not seem like a coincidental mistake since Bartl3t had been trolling our clan channel saying how he was going to disqualify us for not remaking and using bad manners in our own channel
Glad it got sorted out
