View Full Version : Bash supposed to override stun?

I never played dota so I am unsure if this is a proper game mechanic, I didn't see it on the forums. Is pesitlence's(possibly other's as well) bash(third ability, gore) supposed to override the stun from impale?

I have noticed on heroes and kongor that if I impale(2.5sec stun at level 4) and my hero then bashes directly after, or during the duration, the stun only lasts for 1 second instead of 2.5 seconds(or however long the remainder was). The debuff for impale remains on my target saying they should be stunned for longer but they are not.

If this is not a proper game mechanic then I wonder if this could be moved to the beta testing forums.

I would report in in the bugs area. (beta.heroesofnewerth.com) But I think it's been reported previously.

sounds like a bug.

There is a problem with a lot of debuffs overriding each other when instead they should stack.

Yes, stuns cancel other stuns, but if two happen at the same time, the longer one takes place.

I think that stuns should cancel other stuns out to encourage chaining of disables and stuns instead of the entire team wasting everything on one hero.

But bashes and such kind of get into a gray area...in my opinion, they should be an exception to the rule and not overwrite previous stuns. Although, what if a previous stun has .1 second left on it and you want bash to overrwrite it?

Maybe it's fine the way it is.
