I noticed that the -5 armor effect occurs after your first hit. So your first hit is their regular armor and then the -5 armor is placed upon your target. This isn't intentional ... is it?

Well, if by not intentional, it doesn't work that way in dota.
In dota your first hit will count the -6 armor in.

Ya, I was surprised when the first hit did not include the -5 armor. I remember DotA had -5 armor for every hit.
Also curious why it is -5 armor ... our good friend Deso was -6.

Somewhere in the changelog it said it now applies with the first hit but it doesnt.

That is very disappointing ...
buff it by like 1 more minus armor and it could be a pretty good tatical item, so it forces you to hit him as swiftblade before you ult idk

hmm this is bad. in dota in jugs (swiftblade) used his spin all enemys would ge the -armour debuff aswell even though his spin is magic damage

um... no....
in dota jugg could still use orb effects while spinning, but only at the speed of his normal attack, so if ur entire team got the debuff, he could have done it all the same just by running around autoing

When he's spinning, he can only attack buildings with his physical attacks in DotA. I'm not sure whether you'll apply orb effects to enemies in DotA while spinning because I never really saw much use for that...and therefore never tested it :/

Orb effects does work while spinning. I've used skadi many times on juggernaut.

In DotA, while Juggernaut is spinning from Blade Fury, he is still capable of attacking units. The fact that he is spinning is completely cosmetic. That being said, his damage is reduced to 0 for units that are damaged by Blade Fury. This means that while he was spinning, the only targets he could attack and deal damage to were flying units, Ancients, units with Permanent Spell Immunity, and structures. Being granted spell immunity by Repel or Black King Bar does not allow Juggernaut to attack said units during Blade Fury.
That said, you can still trigger Orbs and buff placers by attacking a unit during Blade Fury, causing Maim, Chain Lightning, or Corruption to affect the unit that you were attacking. However, you will not trigger the said effects on "everyone being damaged by his spin" as was suggested earlier, as the source of that damage is a spell and is not his actual attack.

basically what i said only better put. gj :P
Err. In HoN, the first attack actually takes effect with the enemy having -6 armor. In DotA, the first attack APPLIES the -6 armor, but does normal damage, every hit after that is with -6 armor. That was a limitation of the DotA engine.

Juggernaught could auto attack in his Spin but you cancel out the spin dmg on the target, Swiftblade is Disarmed whilst spinning to prevent any problems.

Could you test this? The game I was in I noticed that little problem so i ran several tests in that game and my damage was significantly higher with my second hit - when the armor was reduced by 5, not 6.

Actually, what I said was completely different.
Juggernaught could auto attack in his Spin but you cancel out the spin dmg on the target, Swiftblade is Disarmed whilst spinning to prevent any problems.
Whether or not Juggernaut auto-attacked an enemy is independent of Blade Fury's damage on it. His auto-attack will simply carry with it the same Orb effect and buff placer of his normal attacks. Since Juggernaut will be slashing for 0 damage while Blade Fury is damaging the unit, the Orb effect and buff placers were the only things that mattered while he attacked in Blade Fury.

That's one way of describing the best dps/gold item ingame. I guess in that light it should stay in it's current form although I don't like it.
slightly derailing but I want yug mechanics back

I could deny creeps while spinning in DotA IIRC, and I had read you could apply orb effects but do no damage to allies from attacks while spiining. It might have had a side effect of stopping the damage from spin while you do that, can't remember. It was probably in a Juggernaut guide on dota-allstars.com.
Edit: oops looks like i should have read further:
Juggernaught could auto attack in his Spin but you cancel out the spin dmg on the target, Swiftblade is Disarmed whilst spinning to prevent any problems.

While spinning you do spin damage to allowed targets, and you have the option of attack disallowed targets.

So...is it a Shield Breaker or juggernaut/Swift blade topic ? :)

This is 100% correct. /thread
