Magnus - Lava Surge Animation

Not sure if this was a one time thing, but I was playing Pyro and used my ult against a Magnus. As my ult was traveling towards the hero, Magnus then surged towards an ally hero nearby. My ult had hit Magnus while he was in the animation of the surge, but no damage had been done. Anyone else encounter this issue?


EDIT - He didn't have a null orb.

Can be done with Sand King, it has always been possible to avoid spells via any Blink or Psuedo-blink.

It's either a massive stroke of luck on the blinkers part (usually its this) or it can be timed really well.

A good example is waiting for the Xbolt firing sound to play before blinking to completely avoid a Scouts ultimate.

I'd assume this time it's a funny timing issue. Magmus is invul a little after he uses his surge.
