View Full Version : Gauntlet's Grapple

Gauntlet's tooltip for grapple says that it travels a distance of 725
The levelable range of the skill is 625/800/975/1150
So firstly this should be reflected correctly in the range of the tooltip to show scaling etc.
Secondly - the grapple is only traveling 725 range across the levels and not reaching the other distances as it should

It is really annoying that the Grapple isn't travelling as far as u are able to select. Have to agree on what Hybrid2 said.
By the way: an actual range of 1150 would be way more balanced on this hero.

I agree. I hope the ability is bugged and not the tool tip. 1000 range at max level is much needed to make this skill worth while.

you can select further then the castable range because if you hit, you will both continue travelling to the far point you selected

I believe this is not a bug, but rather intended. Some command over the English language might be necessary.
If you select farther, the glove only flies 725, but if it hits something on its way there (or back, which may be unintentional), the hit unit and Gauntlet fly to that point.
If you select closer, the glove flies 725, and if it hits something on its way there (or, again, back, like before), it pulls it and you to the targeted spot.
All clear now?
Some strategic uses of this skill, for example, would be to push your teammate and yourself into the enemies, or to catch up to a running enemy, for a makeshift portal key. Or if you have a portal key yourself then you blink in, and push an enemy unit next to your entire team for some faecraep.
Obviously though the 725 range is quite low to use for pulling an enemy unit, and its quite hard to target since, in radius, the closer you target, the more corresponding points you get the further away you go (a smaller circles infinity is smaller than a bigger circles infinity).

Dont worry im fully english - i just found it abit ambiguous - as did a few other people as you'll find multiple posts on the same topic
I didnt realise it continued to the 1150 range if you hit a target at the 725 distance it travels.
I was thinking of it more like the old dota rattletrap hookshot - personally i would like the distance travelled to be 1150
We'll see what S2 does - even if its just a reword. To me range and distance travelled are pretty similar - hence my confusion
Thanks for the responces

This is not a bug. The 2nd cast range is for a selected point. The hand will go 725 units then if it connects with something it will travel additional units up to 1150 from the original cast point.
0 725 1150
