View Full Version : New maps for new powerful heroes...

What I would like to see is a few new maps...

I feel like S2 is spending too much time trying to balance every hero for 1 and only 1 map...

What we need is different maps to have different heroes starting to shine more...

Examples of what I'd like to see:

-A 5v5, 2 lines map with a '5 gold every 10 seconds' building that can be captured by either team in both lines... To capture the building, 1 hero must pay 100 and survive by side the building for 15 seconds. Creeps must be present for the claim to be possible.

This map would force people to push early and push hard on those 2 spots... This map would probably (god knows until it's being played) a hard pushing metagame map where supports get gold from those 2 spots. Turtleing would be virtually impossible.

2nd map I'd like to see is a 4 lines 5v5 map, line A & B would be close to each other, line C & D would be close to each other, the jungle would be a 'common' jungle for both teams between line B and C... So, jumping from A to B would be easy, but not from B to C...

This would create a very dynamic ganking map where jungling would be at high risk / high reward and same would go for roaming.


Now, I'd also like to see new runes added to the game... 1 rune should be: +30 armor rune, a +30 magic armor rune, a +15 armor +15 magic armor rune... These runes would be useful, specially to towerdive someone with the +30 armor early on...

Finally, why not even add a 'slow' rune... would give your autoattack a slow attack, kind of similar to Arachna's slow... These are all 'fun' and diversity tools that could be added... I feel like the game is slowly turning into too much of a DotA with only 1 map being played. Diversity, specially at competitive level, will bring you more fans at all levels...

First of all.

Second, it is very much likely that maps like this will arrive after the mapmaker is released.

I got to strongly disagree with you here... Diversity is completely necessary, specially at competitive level... The team that can come up with the best strategy should be rewarded... not just for the execution...

Best example I can come up with again is Starcraft as this game is the reference in terms of competitive gaming. They create / change the maps for virtually every season. This forces players to stay creating and not just to try to execute as good as possible on proven winning strategies.

I agree with OP. In terms of this games potential, it is hardly diverse at all. Diversity would make competitive gaming much more fun to watch if anything. Diversity doesn't force imbalances, it just creates new ones that can be easily rectified.
