I'm my own religion, I believe in God but not the bible or the majority of Christianity, I love the teachings of Siddhartha/Buddha but as stated I believe in God. So when I wanted to get a religious symbol I checked into Religions that had similar beliefs to mine and would have a symbol thath could accurately represent my beliefs. I researched a bit and found the Khanda, for those not knowing what exactly it means I'll copy paste a deffinition:

"In the symbol the sword to the left represents truth, and the sword to the right represents the willingness to fight for what is right- the religion.The circle in the middle means that there is only one god,never beginning and never ending.


The Khanda represents knowledge of God (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ik_Onkar), the Chakkar represents the eternal nature of God and oneness of humanity, the two swords represent Miri (political sovereignty (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Separation_of_church_and_state)) and Piri (spiritual sovereignty (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogma))."




I've spoken to hindus, sikhs, and muslims from mostly india though alsof rom toehr parts of the middle east and they've told me that were I to go to India I'd be stoned for having the tattoo and not being sikh in some places, however I believe that the mroe important thign is that I believe in what the symbol stands for, and it's tenents play a big part in my life. Especially Truth, Fighting for what's right, and the knowledge of god and the oneness of humanity.
