This guide needs images displaying skill ranges and 3 or more replays. Item build should also be reconsidered with new items.

Do you think calice or striders could be nice on pharaoh ?

i discovered this hero lately and kind of like him.
Not as powerfull as current op devourer but still do the job.

good guide all together.

Chalice is pretty good (though you don't really have anything to spam until level 4 soul or walls), but I would skip striders. Your ult gets you into battle and going steamboots/plated will help you survive initiation. I normally stick with basic marchers and go straight for puzzlebox.

I tend to go ghost marchers hobl then puzzle box with either chalice or bottle

And never go striders when you activate hell fire it will restart the cooldown every time you deal damage so ghost marchers for chaseing

mummies should be always taken at lvl 1, unless getting a bloodlust with hellfire, your not taking em at all? what is this i dont even...

considering the cool down on puzzle box recipe puzzle box seems more like a late game item, and prio really doesn't offer any stat boosts to compliment the box spawn. maybe frost burn mid game, geo bane late game might be a better investment.

My skillbuild usually goes:

Wall (this is really not an option - r1 wall is easily the most useful of the three at r1)
Chest Mummy Rocket
Chest Mummy Rocket
Hellfire
Chest Mummy Rocket
SHWANNGGGGG
Chest Mummy Rocket
Hellfire
Hellfire
Hellfire
SHWANNGGGGGG
Wall

stats
SHWANNGGGGGGG

Also I generally prefer steamboots over ghost.

Hellfire first makes Derek sad. You might be in a position to use full hellfire damage. You will certainly be in a position where an extra second or two of mummies gives the bear cavalry enough time to arrive and kill everybody.

Walls at level 4? I lol'd

Getting level 1 walls at level 4 makes you look like a complete idiot.

Walls are the best level 1 griefing skill in the ENTIRE GAME. They drain MORE mana than they cost, hit multiple targets in an aoe, often hit the same target multiple times, block players from getting last hits, do 55 true damage, allow you to completely control laning positioning, and give you AND your laning partner an escape mechanic.

Get walls at level 1 if your lane has a melee enemy. If your lane has only ranged enemies, get tormented soul at level 1 and walls at level 2.

My build is usually:
3/2/3/1/3/4/3/1/1/1/2/4/2/2/2

Sometimes I will switch the beginning two (Mummies and Tormented) for first blood at rune. I get mummies at level two mainly because it is extremely versatile. You can gank enemies very easily, deny enemies from last hitting, and protect both yourself and your team mates from getting ganked. On another note, I usually build chalice first with 9 runes of blight; then buckler if they are agressive, then lifetube. After that I build phase and then Puzzlebox all the way to level 3. Buckler allows easier last hits. Lifetube lets you stay in the lane forever and allows you to abuse your chalice. Phase boots will allow you to chase enemies and hit them with your hellfire more easily. Puzzlebox gaurantee's their death when you initiate on a player and also grants truesight at level 3.

The reason why I get chalice is because most of the time I dont find that mana battery provides enough mana. I use my tormented soul to last hit whenever I can, usually positioning the creep I want to last hit on the foremost part of the soul; this allows a large radius to be used to harass enemies. Most enemies will become wary of you and play rather defensively.

My main rule of thumb when playing pharaoh is to abuse the crap out of your tormented soul, and always use you're ult when its not on cool down. The major advantage you get from it is that they aren't expecting you to get to the so quickly. For example, when pushing a tower enemies will run through the forest to defend. Notify your teammates and engage as quickly as you can. Most teams will not be prepared to take you on and most often will be disoriented and confused; they won't travel together and most of the time the opposing team will leave their teammates to die.

I personally always max mummies before hellfire in any game worth playing. Separating a team in half for 6 seconds (and 2 sec stun) is just way too good.

going to link mine and mention that Tormented Soul is great for farming the forest if you time it right to get double spawns.

http://honwiki.net/wiki/Pharaoh:Bringing_in_the_Harvest

As far as I know, and I've tried, you cannot stack creep camps with Tormented Soul. Throwing it out spawns a gadget with vision that is too near the spawn place, and thus blocks the camp from spawning.

I actually use this very often to block the opposing team's :30 pullcamp spawn to make them think we have a ward up.

Can anyone confirm this?

It is possible to stack with it, creeps spawn if there is nothing within 500 units of it, the damage radius on soul is 600 units. I love using it to block the pull spot as well :)
