Magebane

Okay, so his name isn't misleading at all. He is the bane of Int Heroes. The problem is when you decide to actually try to make it difficult for yourself and choose to join a Random Hero game.

He is utterly useless against Str/Agi Heroes which makes up many of the heroes people tend to play. You'd think he's great against Defiler, but I'm not sure if those spirits do magic damage or not because even with Resist rank 4 they hit for the same they would if he didn't have it...

He needs some sort of buff to be viable against Str/Agi heroes otherwise he's just really useless. His Ult is great, but the cooldown is so long for the mana cost and it barely hurts unless...again...it's an Int hero or a caster with a lot of Mana (end-game).

He starts with crap health that can be fixed. His spells cost a lot to use early game. He can't kill melee heroes alone unless they're stupid.

Are there any other heroes like him or is he all alone? I mean Heroes geared towards a specific type of Hero to kill? If you get him through Random and the other team has NO int heroes you might as well just leave right then and there because you're just going to feed.


Edit: I should mention I meant to say random forced where the game decides for you. I think that's more of a "Pro" game and it makes people learn. But once again, when a Hero is completely useless he's completely useless. Magebane is useless versus an equal melee.

Actually, Magebane is much better on Other agility and str heroes. They have lower mana pools so you can stop their devastating skills from being used. You won;t be fighting Int heroes as Magebane until lvl 10+ because they will probably leave you bloody and feeling used in a ditch somewhere.

His Ult is designed to Kill int heroes but it's rare when you can actually spend your time taking an Int hero from 2500 mana to 0 mana. You pretty much have to wait for them to burn through their Mana and then find them

Like i said though Magebane is better on other Agility and str heroes for most of the game.

Magebane useless? He rips you apart solo with a Brutalizer. Also str/agi heros won't have the mana to cast spells due to mana combustion.

Magebane is a pure carry, plain and simple. If you catch someone with low HP and mana early, you can generally get a kill, but your goal is to farm and blink away from danger until you get some items (Brutalizer and Wingbow, mainly). He destroys intelligence once he has more than 1k HP, and then late game destroys everything except other equally farmed carries. He's fine.
