Seriously i did not realise how hard it is to setup an online business with no experience or advice. Ill tell you a little more...

I planned to setup a serious small time business of selling blu ray dvd's. I would start off small time like maybe setting up a small shop in ebay and producing income there. And possibly making a stall and selling more other places (car boot sales and maybe more? Dreams ftw). But there are a number of problems...

I currently have a sick mother who i am the carer for so this keeps me housebound. I want to try raise money for her to make her better hopefully so i need some serious advice.

I really liked the idea of being a trader of old and new blu ray dvd's. Its a funny market and a lot of people are still trying out this new market area. I think its an excellent business opportunity for myself. But i am also a rookie. Anyone on here who has experience of this i will very much appreciate advice.

I also need a few websites to sell me this stuff. I cant find anywhere that will sell me a good bulk of blu ray dvd's. If anyone can give me advice especialy at this area i would be very much in your debt.

So that's the plan. I know ill probably get a lot of troll comments but i am serious about this.

If ANYONE can give me advice on anything. Pro's and Cons. How to start where to go ect ect then i will be very VERY grateful (Call it like a tutor)

Regards

EDIT jeez how can i forget to mention that i live in the UK :D

I used to sell cdkeys/gamecards online, never on ebay, but on various forums and even had my own site. The key factor tho, is to get feedback and become "trusted" by your possible customers. Once you get your first 20 or something customers, then it's all easy, assuming that the quality of service pleases them, they'll spread the word.

What you DO NOT want to do, is to rush. First impression IS EVERYTHING, if a person comes and sees that you are selling crap for too high price compared to regular market or not having enough in selection or some other weirdo crap, then they just shrug it off and walk away.
So what you want to do is to get a really neat and representive webpage and even if you are doing sales on ebay, then make sure everything is nice and detailed on your AD's etc.

If you are looking to start advertising and don't have the budget for that, then just google for possible forums where people may be trading/selling their discs and put up some advertisements there (as topics).

Also look into some affiliate programs with some movie sites or similiar business sites, getting a nice affiliate with a decent movie site would boost your potential customer database bigtime.

Not really sure what more to mention, i haven't been into online business for a year now, so some things may have changed, but GL.

eBay is an option to get stuff out there, but fees are not good, and paypal takes yet more of your money *which ironically is owned by eBay.

Setting up a merchant account is important.

Online might not be your gig, try trade shows, spend 100 bucks on a booth and bring a bunch of your stuff you bought.

There's an iphone app called iSwipe, I own it and love it. Set up a merchant account or paypal and you can accept credit card purchase right through your phone.

You'll have 1 step ahead of everyone else at flea market/ trade shows since most don't have the ability to take credit/debit.

Research for prices.
Location is a factor.. you don't want to be out of the way.
Don't make it cheap, you might not break even.

I suggest (obviously) Just aim to cover your costs. Go for sales maximisation first, then profit maximisation if you take off.

I haven't really seen much in the way of specifically Blu-Ray DVD's, so you might wanna check up on that a tad before you go with it.

I'm sure you can leave your mother for 1/4 - half a day or so to set up a stall.

maybe this is not the right place to post in,but I also have a business ideea, and that would be to promote hon as an affiliate. My problem is that I can't find anywhere, any information on how to join the hon affiliate program.I know I can get a lot of dota players to switch to hon,but there must be a win-win situation,as this will require a lot of my time.

So,any help?
Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you,for a healthy collaboration :)
