*UPDATE - Unfortunatley the replay system is down and we are unable to download any further replays for the time being. Once they are avaliable and we are able to get them we will continue the coverage! At this time though there is no ETA on when we will be able to continue because it's not on us. Thank you for understanding and your patience... and if you did miss any of the live casts we did earlier, they will be up on VOD shortly

I feel like the use of livestream in this title is a bit disingenuous.

We are livestreaming... this does not mean the content we are streaming is live, it just means that what we are doing is live. If you have a better way of going about announcing this, I am open to suggestions :).

"Live" in general is a bad word. That was kind of the whole problem with the launch party. Even I got a little upset. Maybe make up a new word for it, like lagged shoutcasted. I dont know. See my other thread for details http://forums.heroesofnewerth.com/showthread.php?t=102247
Change it to replaystream. Everyone will know what it means and you saying stream makes it perfectly clear that we'd be watching you live anyway.

You know what, I like that idea and I am taking your advice. Changed the title, hopefully this clears up any sign of confusion in the future. Also, hopefully we do not have to rely on replay casts for much longer as our delay software is finished its just a matter of testing things out :). ACTUAL LIVE STREAMING HERE WE COME!!

For non-GR tournaments I presume. Would be great to have some live streams from other less known tournaments.

Was there really a need for a subtle slam? Not really. Besides, Honcast will be live casting (on site) what is set to be the biggest event of the year, so there's one non-GR tournament if it makes you happy. :)

I like the term honcast, i coined it, we created it and it's just that, a cast of hon.
Honcast.

lol...
But yes, we will still have to do replay casts for GR because they do not let us in their games due to covering themselves. But for every other tournament/league play we cover (which is becoming more and more popular as time goes on) we will do our best to do live casts. Tournaments such as TWL, vVv, Neva, Cybergamer and ESL.

I don't know where to exactly put my feedback so I'm posting here. Please tell me where I should post it in the future.
I just watched this Milk vs IRG game
http://hon.esportmedia.com/video/2010/04/12/cybergamer-semi-finals-match-milk-vs-irg
I see you had changed the player and now you could scale the video, that's extremely good. Atleast one bad thing with that player is the gray boxes, black would be better. Also you had somehow decreased the latency between the casters which was a good thing too.
Originally I came here to report about a possible bug in this replay. In the in-game replay the scoreboard showed +700 g/min for Zephyr. After the game in the lobby the stats showed like +300 g/min and +700 XP/min. It might be possible that these two stats are somehow mixed up. Maybe you should look into it?

That is always the case netygraph and I am pretty sure it is because the end game stats count the game until the very end (when it actually disconnects everyone for good) so time still goes on, thus decreasing GPM. I am not 100% sure on this so I dont know... but this has always been like this and I figured this was the problem.

Yo breaky you guys doing the new casts? it looks like the replay system isn't totally broken anymore.
I'm pumped to see the rest of these matches!

Still cant download the matches from Sunday GR Invitational.... don't really know what to say. At this rate, unless we get them directly from S2 (which I have asked but they are very busy guys so its understandable) we might just have to skip doing them :(. Hopefully this isn't an issue we run into in the future!

that sucks! I guess what can you do though.
btw, I like Veivi's casts with you, although Kaution has gotten loads better at not talking through team fights and spreading the mad knowledge.

I was going to take screenshots of the situation but unfortunately I couldn't skip to the end. If you could fix this would be great.
Could you tell me where to put my feedback in the future in these forums? Is there some "General HONcast thread"?

this explanation is not enough. what you do is not actually a livestream.
even if your cast etc is live, the game itself isn't. as far as i am concerned, the community doesn't care if what they hear is live, but what they are looking at is live

Technically neither is a delayed live stream. There is no way to do it 100% live unless you are actually at the event with all of the gamers.
Or of course don't care about people cheating.
But even if your at the event, or don't care about people cheating, there will always be a delay on any live stream - so no stream should be called live by that logic. Even if its only a few seconds of delay - its not actually live. Dig?
Even in the TV world - nothing is ever really live. The only way you can watch something actually live is to be there in person. Because there will always be some sort of delay. It takes time for video/audio to go through a mixer, out to a satellite truck and up to a satellite and back down to the studio and through a mixer then back out to a satellite or cable for distribution :)
Streaming Live simply means they are streaming at that given time. Just because the content isn't live doesn't mean that they aren't streaming it to you live. It's kinda like watching a CNN live report where they show previously aired footage. Just because they are showing previously aired footage doesn't mean that you aren't watching it live.

Would this not work:
Have one person livestream. Someone else watches it. Pauses it. restarts 10 minutes later and then streams his screen?
Everyone watches the second stream (first is private).

I presume that means no it won't work :D
Dunno why though. When I watch sports on sopcast or streamtorrent if I pause it and then continue it just continues from where i paused it.

No, i just like being making completely unrelated posts. I have no idea what the quality of that would look like.
