I am confused by the brackets... Are you really matching up all the top tier teams against one another while matching up the lower tier teams against one another?

It might make for some exciting first round games sure... but that completely ruins the rest of the tournament, lol. Correct me if I am wrong, but that is the first impression I get when looking at the brackets.

Ehhh... it's your tournament and if that is how you want to do it so be it. Just as long as after the first round it doesn't keep on the same slate of top tier teams matching up against one another and the same thing for low tier. Or else you are setting things up for a lolerskates semi-finals/finals just for the sake of having decent first round matches.

It seems that all you are doing is delaying the stomp from round 1 to round 2 at the expense of knocking out half of the top bracket. Anyhow, it will be interesting to see how it works out. Best of luck.

If you do the math, say if the very top teams always beat the bottom teams. semi finals should be rank 1, 2, 3 and 4. where doing it the way i have the finals will be 1, 2, 5, 6
so it wont be 1900 vs 1600 it will still be 1900 vs 1900. all i did was make the first round fair for the lower ratings.

again this is a new method i am trying and the math still works out for all interesting finals of high ranks. see for yourself

I am in the middle of changing the process.

It is my fault it is 3 weeks away as i opened the tournament earlier thinking it may not fill in time. 48 hours later, full.

I might write an application to make sign ups a better process but for now must do it manually.

can u set a cutoff time on april 30th where it is a show up or DQ situation if it is too much of a hassle to get the other team to login when you are avaliable and vice versa

example: must be online at 7pm PST and game replay/MatchID/results E-Mailed by midnight

have the team who is online at the time take screen shots with a /whois (other team) not being online after a certain amount of time (give em 15-20 mins to show up or so) and E-Mail the results

should be ez to line up replacement teams all at once at that point perhaps, dunno just a suggestion.

The deadline was set 30th for about a week now. So this isn't short notice, if they haven't played there game within that time limit then i have plenty of willing to play teams wanting a crack at some free cash.

I think i need to eliminate this problem with a set time and date system to suit both teams timezones, an agreement between 2 teams to show up and play.

No I agree with the deadline and all that, the wording of your other post was just really confusing and the opposite of what you meant. Most tournaments have a default day and time, usually the deadline day, which teams will use if an agreement can not be reached about a better time. So, something like 7pm PST/10pm EST for weekdays and then w/e time you think is good for weekends.

You need to do it now because there is another tournament in JUNE from Xin-Gaming. If you don't do it now, you wont be able to till maybe August.

You need to:

1) Complete the fillers for now whoever has signed up

2) Cut the teams who haven't played at all on both sides so it's less people, most of them are new players anyway

3) Redo the brackets and start next week

4) Whoever does not have it pre-purchased and cannot compete in one of their matches because their name does not exist will be Dq'd

5) If both teams got DQ'd in one bracket, the team to play that winning bracket gets a buy

Tournament should be over by June if i restart it on May. DQing all the teams sorta kills the tournament and no replays makes it a waste of time for what i am trying to archive.

I didn't see this coming with the retail resetting all the stats and deleting of all free accounts which throws a massive spanner in the works.

I am going to put this tournament on hold until the 13th.
It is my first tournament and i have learned quite a bit so should be a smoother run when this is retail and we can continue the tournament.

Next time we will run a better tournament for the time difference of most teams but unfortunately the above rule overrides.
